So you feel as good about Lee as UF fans did about Tebow.

Interesting.

You all are also forgetting what LSU will lose this year...our best D-linemen, our best O-linemen, our best WR, our best LB, a great kicker.....

UF '08 >>>>>> LSU '09
(on paper, at the very least)

We did not.

Note, we lost some. And, we lost our top 2 QBs, Florida did not.

However, Lee is being praised, when he deserves some criticism. I seriously doubt Crowton is in the film room saying, 'don't worry about those INTs, you're young and nobody else in the SEC has a young QB. Next year is your year, so keep on chunkin' it, even if you don't seem to know where it's going.'

Get real. The guy's a big-time football player. I bet he can handle some criticism. With the prices fans pay, they're entitled to criticize and cheer.

From the '08 team we also lost what was probably the best senior leadership on any LSU team in recent history. Steltz, Doucet, Dorsey, Hester, Flynn--these guys were solid. UF wasn't lousy last year, and they arguably should have defeated the Tigers. I'm not suggesting that the '07 version of Tebow is Lee in '08, but the losses were huge from last year (Pelini, etc.). Miles won't change the co-DC scheme in the middle of the season, but he's smart enough to fix it after the year ends. Are they recruiting well? Yes, by all indications, and several freshmen this year were red-shirted. Did the coaches suddenly become bad coaches? No, and hindsight is always 20-20. Did Perriloux leave them in a pickle? Absolutely. But, they are dealing with it, and no one feels worse about the season than Lee. They should have beaten the no. 1 team in the country with sub-par QB play in a down year. They'll be fine.

Uh, we might be fine. But we are not set at QB. JL is one of the worst QB that I have ever seen at LSU. I am sure hes a nice kid, and I know he has talent, but he doesn't learn, he hasn't developed and he hasn't improved. Every week he looks worse than the week before.

This season we are going to lose a bunch of defensive player and still not have a QB worth a damn unless JJ or one of the freshman can play.

We are not in near the same shape as UF. Not even close. As a matter of fact, we have a QB that keeps other teams in the game and in some cases (Sat), put them over the top.

"just that I don't see a lot of reasons for any confidence that will happen."

......as an Auburn fan, I would see why you wouldn't want to have any confidence in LSU.....better worry about your own backyard

Sometimes, the negativity and gloom and doom of some people on this board is just nauseating.

Now I understand what Saban meant when he coined the phrase "catastrophe syndrome"

We're more than likely gonna finish 9-3 this season, have the #3 recruiting class in the nation coming in, a Michael Vick-like talent at quarterback coming in next season, and somehow we're being compared to Nebraska.

Unbelievable.

Two years ago Florida won the NC, and the next year their QB won the Heisman but the teams lost three SEC games and a bowl game against a shitty Michigan team. Look at what UF is doing this year. We're fine.

So, what makes you think we are going to be a national title contender of the likes of Florida next season? Seriously? The big difference is Tebow. We have some talented frosh on the way, but you are saying we will be like Florida next season and we don't have a Tebow to get us there.

No, but we lost 7 from both sides, all to the NFL. I know that's expected, but then we also, effectively lost the only experienced QB we had, in the off-season.

By the way what is Curley doing these days?

Auburn has had some trouble climbing back after their last dominant season.
