They didn't get paid what they thought they deserved! Freeman, Poche and Deichman will improve their Draft stock on 2017. Also, they have no other options but to come back. No idea why KRob came back. Mlb generally gets it right and I think there were 80 plus shortstops taken ahead of him in 2016. He will be the same player in 5 years. No upside. Plays hard and a solid college player. If drafted outside of the top 10 rounds the odds of sniffing the big leagues are slim. They play because they love LSU and all it offers. Has nothing to do with CPM.

You just proved you're not close to the program. My question was about PM's former players lining up to work for him in some capacity, not about why last year's drafted players returned this season.
Cain, Ochinko, Gibbs, Fury and previously Dean and Ibarra all came back to work for Mainieri just within the last 3 years.
And why did 4 current players call or go see Mainieri the day they heard about Texas talking to him last June and asked him not to leave? And that included Diechmann whose dad and Mainieri supposedly have had differences.
And if you really are close to the program you'd know Robertson came back because he wants to play in Omaha which he's never done. He said that. You should know he said that.
Mainieri is a no nonsense coach who doesn't try to be a buddy to his players and he can be demanding to play for but the results have shown he's one of the best active head coaches in the college game today.

I hope so too, but the kid is a 5-tool with incredible power, that he's had since freshman year of HS. Also has already had labrum surgery once. Not sure he would risk injury in college if the money was worth it.
Although the commitment, minutes after decommiting seems like he wants to be a tiger! I say 50/50 he makes it to campus. Rest of this season means a lot for him.

If Deichmans dad did call, it was because he didn't want Greg to get screwed again like he did his freshman year. Coach could not squeeze him some at bats or starts in 2015? Also, Ochinko and Gibbs are finishing degrees. And lastly the jack arse preaches loyalty to LSU and admits he had no intentions of taking the job and Texas. " he did it to get a raise and his coaches a raise"" he is also getting a new facilities!! Also, Cain was a administrative assistant 24 months ago and now is an assistant coach? Are you kidding me? He surrounds himself with a bunch of people he can control!!! When Cannnizaro figured it out, he got the heck out of dodge!! That could be with KRoB? It is easy to say when you go that late in the draft after being named all SEC. Hard to swollow that pill for his ego!!
