also there is some flawed logic genally involved with women's basketball. people believe that because they don't dunk or run fast they have to make it up with superior fundamentals. but that is flawed thinking. they don't have to make up any difference because the other team is women too! if they played men they would have be incredible at shooting and passing etc to compete. but they don't. they play women who cant dunk or run fast. so they don't need to be better at fundamentals relative to men to win. just better than other women, who are bad.
plus the ball is smaller so shooting is easier.

Hey genius, why don't you do a little research and find out that Kim Mulkey makes the girls practice against a team of all men who can dunk and are plenty fast...... So, why don't you just quit typing until you have something realistic to say.

old timer, the actual games are vs women. to win in the women's game you don't have to make up for poor athleticism, because the competition in actual games is also women who are not gonna require you overcome them with superior fundamentals because they are superior athletes.
you would be making a great point if they had to beat those men in practice. but they don't. because.... its practice

I was a freshman at Tech the same year as Mulkey. I remember not missing a home game. It was a great, fun atmosphere. The soldout crowds really got into it and the Lady Techsters were a national powerhouse.
On TV, not as much fun to watch.

Wow. Kim should be proud like a mom. The girls were selfless today, assists were plenty and team chemisty was at an all time high and it all electrified the crowd. Way to go girls. This team that played today beats Vandy and KY by double digits.

Which is actually why I enjoy watching women’s basketball. The level of competitiveness is what makes it exciting to me and has nothing to do with if women’s skill level is less than the men. As you said, they aren’t playing the games against men. They are also representing LSU. Another reason for me to watch.
