First off, hell yeah on going to Omaha. Nothing like it.
On some level, I feel for the the people who paid for you to attend the wedding, that shite ain't cheap, but if they are genuinely a "friend" they will understand you don't get the chance to attend a national championship game all that many times in your lifetime.

My daughter(LSU grad) and my new son in law (LSU grad) got married two years ago on the first game of the CWS. 75" screen on one end of the dance floor, band on the other. The band could call out the big plays to those who may miss it. It was awesome. And we had a "Win Bar" as you entered the tent.

You are thinking of football season when we play football most weekends except byes which are acceptable wedding dates.

The only acceptable time to get married is at the end of July. You miss hunting season; you miss the best part of fishing in general; you miss football, baseball, basketball, and college track, and on and on and on. So you youngsters out there take it from an old goat, like me to convince your girl at the end of July.

I had some family get married the night LSU beat Bama in Tuscaloosa. Couldn’t believe they planned the wedding that night…. Needless to say, I was in my truck watching the last bit of the game because there were not TVs in the venue!

It’s good luck. I watched LSU v Florida game 1 in 2023 at a wedding. Being a groomsman didn’t stop me, and I was surrounded by a bunch of Aggies…
