I don't think anyone can say for certain that Joe will have success in the NFL. College production is an indicator but not guarantee of success. For example Russell Gage is on an NFL roster and is either starting or at least getting good play time. Who saw that coming? He had maybe 20 catches his whole college career. Then you have JaMarcus Russell which needs no further explanation.

Talent is required for NFL success, this is true, but more is needed in addition. You need to be put into a system that utilizes your strengths, a team and coaching staff you work well with. And the knowledge and determination to make it all work.

Joe seems to be a football-intelligent guy. That will help a lot. He also seems to be a very determined and hard working player. That will not only help him directly, but will help him earn respect of his coaches and teammates.

What I think really sets him apart is his cohesion with his receivers. They are in sync. When a play works as drawn up they are money. When plays don't, they improvise well. If he can develop that in the NFL that will make a big difference.

I think there are a few answers, but the biggest is that this dude is already running an NFL offense. The saints offense that Brady installed is potent, but not everyone runs it because it's complex as hell. Burrow was able to digest, understand and run it in ONE OFFSEASON!! His football IQ is off the charts...combine that with the fact that he has unreal pocket presence to the point were blitzes are almost useless against him and I think you have a recipe for success at the next level.

Also, can't forget his natural accuracy. Chase had less than 400 yds all of last year...this year his a Blitenikoff candidate...that don't happen if the QB isn't able to drop dimes and find his man

And every single one of them, minus Winston (maybe) got drafted by shite organizations who have no plans to be competetive. Nashville...maybe. But Tampa seems to at least try a little. Washington and cleveland are cemeteries for pro football players.

Unfortunately, this analysis applies to Cincinnati as well.

I wonder if he could pull of the "I won't play for ____" Eli Manning move and go to another franchise.

Partially due to good players going to bad teams. Another thing is the system people come from sometimes inflates their stats in ways that can't easily be replicated in the NFL. Also, it's down to the player. Some guys everything just comes so naturally to them that they don't really put in the time in college to get better, the NFL is a whole different beast: you can't just be a better athlete.

Burrow is not doing what he's doing solely due to natural ability, he works his arse off. Nothing we do in our offensive system is that different than what a lot of NFL teams do other than he'll be under center more. I'm very confident he'll be successful in his career even if it's not with the team who drafts him.

Joe is a legit sociopath. That serves well when the pressure is on. He’s also the most competitive player in college football. His physical traits are good-not-great, but from the neck up, he’s as good as it gets. Oh, and he’s the most accurate passer in the history of college ball.

Most of those QBs got by on their dual-threat capabilities. That doesn't work for long in the pros, where it's nice to be mobile, but you better be able to read defenses, go through progressions, and deliver an accurate strike with a quick release. Joe has demonstrated those abilities amply. Some of those other guys never did.

THIS is his biggest attribute going into the NFL. TONS of good QBs fail in the NFL. All the true greats threw an accurate ball... that's one thing they all had in common. Some could run. Some had cannons. Some were just smart as hell. But they were all accurate.

It's hard to predict who will translate their talent at one level to the next. Even the guys who do it for a living have a hard time with this. But I strongly believe that Joe will be successful in the pros. The main reason is that he makes good decisions quickly. He knows his reads, figures out where his advantage lies and then makes the play. We've seen time and time again that he doesn't just find a receiver who is open. He finds the BEST receiver who is open. By best, I mean the one that will do the most damage.

Other factors that I believe will help him transition to the pros:
- Pocket awareness. He moves around in the pocket like Drew Brees to buy time. Plus he is always looking downfield.
- Accuracy. His arm strength isn't other-worldly but it's not bad. However, his accuracy is outstanding. In the pros the open windows are much smaller and I think he has the accuracy to hit those windows. We've seen him hit receivers in stride on crossing routes so that they can keep running and gain a lot of YAC.
- Leadership. QB is a leadership position and Joe has strong leadership qualities. He's confident in himself and he holds his teammates accountable. From everything we've heard, his teammates would attack a lion barehanded for him. He has the ability to lift everyone around him to a new level.
