Well to begin with they are not in cages and all three of them are perfectly capable of ruining someone's day.

Two can be controlled by guys with leashes. The other can be controlled without any leash at all.

I mean a dolphin is capable of ruining someone's day, but people still swim with it. Just because something is capable of ruining someone's day, doesn't mean it is likely to ruin someone's day.

Mike is likely. The others aren't

Well they should obviously have a Tiger too. It’s so easy why don’t they have one?

The University of Memphis has a live tiger. One of them was a brother to Mike VI (I think). That is proof that anyone can own a tiger and house it in plush accommodations. Live mascots on the field are at a much higher level.

Mike probably has the best setup for a caged tiger and LSU should be proud of that. No need to stress him out and put him on display in the stadium.

Because that's how you get Mike VII to be the last live tiger on campus ever again.

You think the people that want to do away with live mascots are satisfied with him just staying in his fake habitat now?

Oh well I guess we should just get a bird like Auburn then to make you happy. Or maybe a dog

I remember hearing the story (from quiet a few years ago) where they were transporting Mike (to maybe a close road game) and the lock on the cage came undone but the gate remained closed but he could have gotten out going down the road. Imagine that scenario ??

I wouldn't consider this an important issue.

Let's concentrate on having a football team that consistenly competes for championships!

Who cares about the live tiger!

I’m amazed that a witness to this mistreatment is still around…

Also back in the day, there weren't fireworks and a cannon going off while Mike was in the stadium.

If you do a little research, the real reluctance of Mike coming in the stadium started with the presence of fireworks.

I guess he doesn't hear those things in his cage. He must be using ear buds.

In reality, we chose fireworks over having Mike in the stadium.

The people who want to do away with live mascots don't matter.

The Department of Agriculture, which certifies Mike's Habitat and only allows travel under very limited circumstances, matter immensely.

I'm amazed how anal some of you are about it. I really don't give a shite if Mike comes into the stadium. I'm happy just having access to visit him.

Did he write that in his journal? how would we know what a tiger likes?

I worked as a Ticket Taker at gate 8 on the North Side for 5 years and you would be shocked how little sound escapes from that end.
