Really? Returning most players off a 10 and 3 team, including a very good SR. QB. All but 1 starter on an offensive line that paved the way for a 1000 yard rusher and a 2800 yard passer. A very talented and experienced receiving corps. A defense that returns 2 of the 3 starting dlinmen plus a couple experienced backups and a very talented freshman. A LBing corps that returns all starters except 1 and the return of a future 1st round draft pick OLB/DE. A secondary that returns all players except 1, an AA safety and a very talented freshman CB. Plus, the hire of a young, innovative, intelligent and knowledgeable offensive coach. From an offensive point of view the offense hasn't looked this promising in several years. I'd say 2012 or 2013, but really with the hire of Brady you'd have to go back even further. From a defensive point, LSU had several draft eligible players return to school. In past years it was these type players leaving that really hurt LSU. The defense will be even better this coming season than they've been in a few years.
The fact Orgeron is able to recruit at such a high level is amazing! And winning on the field will only make recruiting better. People love O and kids love the dude and want to play for him. And these factors cannot be overemphasized. Best days for LSU football are dead ahead!!!

Experts are picking bama and Clemson to win every year until saban retires,
The success of Bama and Clemson will hinge largely on who replaces Tua and Lawrence. The game is changing. You can't win national championships with just defense anymore like Alabama had done several years during the Saban run.

Well, at least you have 16 people supporting your stance. Luckily for you, those 16 guys probably shite post on the reg, so I'm sure someone will be along soon to join your circle jerk of self loathing. Carry on.

How is it unanimous? Because one sports writer stated in his opinion that it is a bad contract?
Maybe everyone should take a step back and let W run his office for a couple years, and let O run his.

But who here thinks that LSU is just a “run of the mill” 9 or 10 win team.
Name me 10 teams nationally in the power 5 that average 9-10 wins.......yet alone in the fricken SEC West....

Last time this happened, LSU was embarrassed by Bama in the NC...
LSU had already won that season and it’s one of the best in CFB history. Looking back I see how meaningless and wrong that game was and I wish I had sold my tickets when Okie State got screwed.

Well, then maybe you should have used the UW point as your rebuttal, instead of your even more ridiculously hyperbolic statement of Jimbo’s contract being a unanimously bad contract in order to try and take some of the shine off Woodward as a response to your ill perceived slight of O. And even at that, I can only assume that you read some headline somewhere about the UW situation and took it completely out of context.
But the even better question is why do you feel this need to attack, or as stated before, take some of the shine off of Woodward? The poster you replied to never even said anything bad about O. All he was simply saying is that should O not get the job done, then he has confidence in Woodward being able to bring in a top coach to replace him with. And that is a sentiment that probably at least 90% or more of all LSU fans would agree with. But it is not a slight towards your boy O.
If you are the self proclaimed LSU fan you pretend to be, then you should have no reason to be anything other than happy or excited over the Woodward hire, regardless if he is a unanimous top 5 AD in the country or not. Because no matter his ranking, he is definitely a step up in class and ability over the previous one.

LSU has seen better days than where it is right now but it can get back to those days and this year can be the start.
Also being a 9 or 10 win team consistently like LSU has been is not “run the mill”. That’s pretty good. Not great and they need to improve but let’s not act like LSU is some fringe top 25 team.

This golden era has passed. It ended when Miles was let go.
This is a new journey with a different vibe. Can it reach that plateau again? Of course.
Will it with the current staff members? That is a opinion that has no answer.

Misery is choice. Your glass is destined to be half empty forever! Wear the purple and gold proudly. Bring your girl to the game. One day hope to bring your kids.
Go to the board and rant. But there is always a way.

Lsu has more talent than anyone else in the country except Bama uga and clemson. Even then, they are neck and neck with these guys. By all means, they should be going 11-1 minimum and beating bama some years.

Not by a long shot.
First, we're not down. We just don't have that far to go to.
Second, there will never be a shortage of talent at LSU. We've had roster management issues and problems at QB but there's always talent.
Third, I think LSU has turned the page on finally updating the offense to account for the athleticism of modern day football.
Fourth, LSU is still a national brand with a pedigree, mystique, swag or whatever you want to call it.
There's a cycle to who sits on top. Dynastic-like runs happen and then disappear. The margin or error is small. Sure there are perennial powers but no one stays on top forever. Who would have thought USC, Texas, Tennessee or Florida (to name a few) would be lose their mojo? They'll all be back at some point.
CONSIDER THIS: Since 2000, every major power has had a losing or .500 season EXCEPT LSU and OU.
