Everyone will know LSU’s commitment to basketball with the next hire. The hire will tell you how much money they’re willing to put towards basketball. If it’s a top notch hire, you’ll know Verge is going all in. No decent coach will come if money commitment isn’t there.

we are gonna win the next two easily and optimism will reign as we sail past the bubble and solidly into the tournament.

I'm on the Josh Schertz bandwagon.

Same here. The more I read about him and watch Saint Louis, the more I like him. I think he could turn the program around quickly. Hopefully he's already on Verge's radar screen.

His teams have historically shown year-to-year improvement in his first three years.
Lincoln Memorial: 14-14 (2008-09), 20-9 (2009-10), 27-3 (2010-11)
Indiana State: 11-20 (2021-22), 23-13 (2022-23), 32-7 (2023-24)
Saint Louis: 19-15 (2024-25), currently 19-1 (2025-26)

Don’t be spoiled. We all know that it takes 6-7 years for a coach to come in and really make an impact.

More importantly: is he a nice guy?

Speaking of Pearl, I think there's similarities to when Pearl was at UT and Wade at LSU. After Pearl got fired they tried to clean up the program w/Cuonzo Martin, fired him and then ended up w/Rick Barnes who has done great and will stay there forever. Here's hoping LSU makes a similar hire after McMahon gets fired who was hired after Wade to clean up the program.

If McMahon is terminated after this season, I have no idea who LSU goes after. I don't believe it will be Will Wade unlike a lot of other think,
