Lonni Alameda is the only current coach who has taken a program from a lower level up to the level you seem to desire
I wouldn't count out Courtney Deifel at Arkansas. They were a low SEC Team before her arrival. She has turned that program into a winning program that has won the SEC outright and is likely to make it to WCWS this year. If SW is looking for a Torina replacement, that could be where he looks.

I am not happy to just host a regional in most years, but there is a middle ground between that level and one that demands an NC or bust.
Where did I say “NC or bust”?
Don’t accuse me of setting up a straw man when you’re the one doing it.
But tell you what, I won’t back down on an exact standard. What should this program be doing? Make OKC around half the time. That is reasonable considering the facilities and funds poured into the program. Simply being a top 20-25 program is not good enough. And if you think Scott Woodward doesn’t feel the same way, you are even more naive than your previous posts sounded, and that’s naive indeed.
I won’t set a number of NC’s. Make OKC about half the time, further results will take care of themselves.

Yes, I agree that what she has done at Arkansas is remarkable. If LSU does look for a replacement, she should be high on the list. If they make the WCWS this year I would definitely start to consider the possibility that she might be an upgrade. She hasn’t made it there yet and also hasn’t proven she can keep a program at that level for an extended period. Those would be my main reservations at the moment. Torina needs to prove she can get back there soon or those kinds of gambles start to look more reasonable.

Has she given the powers that be reason to fire her for cause or has she produced two years in a row of Grossly under performing product??
I think she’s probably safe for another year or two

Fair enough. I shouldn’t have assumed your position was as extreme as most of those in this forum that are calling for Torina to be fired. Our expectations aren’t that far apart then. You expect to make OKC “about half the time” and my bar is a little bit less than half the time. Our obvious disagreement lies in whether we believe Torina is capable of doing that. I’m looking more at her 4 in 9 track record while you’re looking at 0 of the last 3 and probably about to be 0/4. If she doesn’t turn that around soon, then it’s time to make a change.

I think she’ll be given the opportunity to make some staff changes but..she probably will fall on her sword instead. However I think she’ll land on her feet should it come to that. I really like Beth and she’s been awfully good to all our travel coaches in terms of accessibility
