I don't believe LSU has ever signed the consensus #1 overall player before. Anthony Johnson was at one time #1 by some services, as was La'el Collins. Randle and Shepard were never #1 overall.

Don't put that much stock In the recruiting services actual rankings. Faulk, was number 2 overall, but everyone knew he and Randy Moss were the two best players in the class
Adrian Peterson
Maurice Clarett
Kevin Faulk
Stephen Davis
Terry Kirby
Emmit Smith
Were all regarded the best Players in their class. Despite where they were ranked.

I think Keiland Williams was a 5 star!

keiland williams would have prob been the #1 or 2 RB recruit in the nation had he not had to go to prep school

I think you're right about that. At least I
believe he was #1 in his senior year of high school.

Maybe I should have asked - who was the last #1 overall recruit who was also a RB that signed with LSU?
I guess Kevin Faulk comes close.....
I wonder where Charles Alexander, Garry James and Cannon were ranked?
Who was ranked ahead of Cecil Collins?
Posted on 1/23/14 at 1:47 pm to MetryTyger
He didn't have a senior year. Didn't have the grades to re-classify and was too old to play. Therefore, he went to prep school.
He would have been 2 or 3 his senior year.

Cecil was a top 50 player. Top 3-5 running back.

We may have another 5-star RB but will anyone ever have calves like Keiland's again?
Posted on 1/23/14 at 2:06 pm to KCinDC
Ford Ware and Hilliard were 5 star recruits by at least 1 service.

They had rankings back then?
were they in a magazine?

Keiland was ripped since we were like 10 years old its amazing how someone could have been that huge and was a vegetarian since the 4th grade and never really lifted weights
