why not?
most of them play other top teams
besides, most people are calling for 1 really good series, and a few other ones that are a step up from Princeton, Holy Cross, and horrible cold weather teams.

Nobody should give a frick who LSU plays during the year as long as we are ready for post season. This whole thread is fricking stupid !

This is retarded thinking.

Why ? Isn't the reason you play the season is to get to post season ? The SEC does that for LSU, being the best in the nation. I don't see the point of this.

among other reasons, like entertaining the fans who buy tickets

There are good teams outside of the SEC, in fact, some of the best teams in the country are in other conferences, imagine that.

Then don't make asinine comments in a thread that discusses it, just stay away.

As a big time baseball fan...i completely agree. Schedule ONE...just ONE more weekend series against a Baylor...Tex A&M...TCU...etc...just ONE. If LSU had 3 games with CSF and another 3 games with one of the above...then EVERYONE would be happy IMO. This should be about the fans...not about the money...even if it's a home/away. I have to wait a month for a decent series to travel to from Houston...not right.

Coach Mainieri is paid to WIN GAMES, not to entertain YOUR DUMB arse. If you are not entertained by watching LSU get to the post season and have a chance to win ANOTHER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, don't go the the fricking games! LSU has done it BETTeR than ANY OTHER SCHOOL in the last 20 years and you idiots are on here saying they should change just because you are not entertained ? frickING IDIOTS !

Wow, you seem awfully upset that people who buy tickets to baseball games would actually like to be entertained by the product they pay for. Obviously everyone wants to see LSU win games, that is not in question. But a lot of people would like to see them win games against good competition as well.

This. It's easy to say we should schedule better OOC, but as big as our program is, we can't just force other quality programs to play us. Besides, it's not like we schedule worse than any other program on our level.

Actually he is paid to win rings
The easy way to get that done is to host both regionals
The easy way to do that is to win the conference
The easy way to do that is to be prepared for league play by playing stiff competition

I never said playing against lesser competition gets you ready for SEC play more than playing better teams. I just havent seen any data that says the opposite. If you are playing a bunch of close games 3 or 4 weeks before SEC play...you may have the mental preparation for playing close games...but you also dont get much of the bench involved. And are pitchers and hitters really going to get significantly better in a matter of a few weeks just because they are playing better teams? JMHO..i say not really.

I just can't believe yall are still arguing this

Well, let's just say that the pitching you will face against UF, Vandy, USCe, etc is considerably better than what the players are facing thus far. Therefore, facing a team like CSF in advance of that will be beneficial as would playing a couple more better teams. Same goes for the quality of hitters that the pitchers are facing.
