I'm struggling to understand why anyone is complaining about the way the pitching staff was handled today. We gave up 3 runs. If we would have hit worth a shite we'd have won.
I'm not Mainieri's biggest fan, but he'd have to go completely fricking brain dead for me to not trust him in a conference tournament setting.

You are so focused on trying to find a problem, you are ignoring the very obvious fact that pitching was VERY good today overall.
It is very possible that Gausman, on short rest, would have had similar results.

LSU scored two runs today. Gausman probably doesn't hold Miss St under two runs. We pitched as well as we could with our poor offense today.

Right. We pitched just fine and well enough to win. And had we been going up against just about any other pitcher in this tournament, we probably would have won.
