Oh no, a coach is talking up his current job as the greatest thing ever.
I really don't get why posters feel the need to shut things down as if they will never happen, but it truly seems to be a trend among half of this fan base lately.
He may never come back, but I certainly don't think it's some impossibility. Especially off some quote praising his current situation. This football offseason has taught me a lot with the never going to happen mindset.

Literally what do you think he will say? That is coach speak. Some mean it some don’t. He hasn’t been a ton of places so I’m sure NC State is the best so far (people forget that the bozos on this board freaked out after most wins and losses and were never satisfied until he left). LSU Basketball fans are absolutely awful

You’re kidding yourself if you don’t Scott was looking for a reason to terminate Wade. It was also Scott that prevented LSU from rehiring him last March.
I cant imagine an athletic director has ever done that, but would be a cool trivia question if it has happened. Bobby Petrino is the only head coach in my memory who has been rehired as a head coach at the same university, but it was a different AD.

He’s been pissed about the admin lying to him about building facilities since year 2 when he was here. He's never gonna let that go, he brings it up all the time.

It was real. Temple, Mallett, and Ballard were in favor of bringing him back. The governor was also involved. They had discussions with his camp and Wade was coming. Scott was against it. In the end the board decided that going over Scott's head and forcing him to hire someone he previously fired and did not support re-hiring would effectively neuter the AD and his authority over Wade.
This has been written about in articles and on here but I heard it last year before any article was written. Behind the scenes the AD and others involced with the basketball program at McNeese were very forthcoming to people about what had happened and thats how the info got out.

Is the greatest college football coach of all time the benchmark for good coaching now? Pretty high standard you got there.
Wade was 34 years old when he took the LSU job. His peak is still in front of him. While he was here he was the only coach in 25 years to make the tournament 3 years in a row (and it would have been 4 had 2020 had a tournament). He had a top 3 scoring offense in the SEC all but 1 of his years (and the year he didnt he had the #1 defense). In 5 seasons he has sent 11 players to the NBA - 5 still currently playing. (McMahon is on year 4 and has sent 0... hes got some catching up to do). And most importantly he had the fans paying attention to LSU basketball.
