It's early and SEC play is 2 weeks away but, Will is getting his off speed pitches over for strikes which he struggled with hugely last year. Great work by him and the coaches because he looks very much improved. If he continues this in SEC play, lookout.

it was all mental for Schmidt
he was very good in midweek and then would fall apart in SEC play.
But your right the key is throwing his breaking balls for strikes. If teams can’t just lay off those his FB plays much better

He was so impressive today. Complete command of all his pitches. He also seems so calm and composed his last couple of outings.

Confidence requires experience for most people. Most people don’t show up like Casan Evans did as a freshman.

He is even locating his fastball better. Last year he was pretty much a 1 pitch guy, really good to see him progress.

I know he spent a lot of this past summer working instead of doing the college scene as much. Glad its paying off..

Yes, it was good to see him go long. His change ups have a tendency to get in the dirt though. He’s just gotta keep getting better. Today was a good day for him.

It is continues to be true, GOOD things happen when you throw strikes.

I love what I have seen from him this year. I want to see him continue to improve. But the main thing is I am curious how he does the next few outings because I was actually shocked at how much velocity he lost at certain times on Sunday. He seemed to get tired quicker than I was expecting and that can come back to bite you. But some pitchers are not able to go past 6-7 innings.
