Data One company which builds data center for Nebius can build 50MW in just 7 months. very impressive.

Grok summary of the X post below
quote:
Nebius ($NBIS) may have built the first fully off-grid massive AI data center in Vineland, NJ. It uses big natural gas engines and flywheels for stable power, generating up to 400MW without relying on the grid. This "systemic innovation" skips long utility waits, speeding up AI setup. Clues from CEOs and engine suppliers point to this, but it's unconfirmed. Credit to @zen_tropy
for the detective work.

That is huge, and would fit the description of changing the industry forever.
Combine that with building a new data center in 7 months, and we are on to something. Shortening that time from capex to revenue generating means less debt in the long run and a quicker run to profit.
I guess the issue now is, "How long before everyone else catches up?". Does NBIS have a moat to protect the design, or can DataOne build these things for anyone? Could this cause a bidding war?
At any rate, this is huge, because I know they have announced a 1GW data center just south of me in Fort Pierce, FL, and the locals are already protesting it on the grounds that it will drive up residential electricity rates, among other things. This mitigates that concern, and if it is clean energy, those folks won't have much to complain about.
I guess the one complaint they had is that it is a multi-billion dollar complex that only provides about 400 jobs. They want the operator (still not known) to hire more people. Apparently the local property taxes aren't enough for them.

I wonder if they are keeping this quiet until they get a few more under contract before the price goes up...
Of course they probably want to make sure that the power source is operating trouble free before making an announcement like that.
But wow. Today, they can say they have 2 GW of power contracted, but only 200 MW on line. In the future, they won't even have to disclose power and capacity as separate items. It will be one and the same.

Still looking for the stock that only goes up by 6% every day...
I'm very interested if/when you find it.

The bottleneck is waiting for the energy production to be built. Finding a local utility and government that will play ball BEFORE you purchase the land is probably a real PITA.

Sold the other day at 102 and bought today at 96. Not bad a 6 dollar profit per share with little risk. Probably rinse and repeat early next week and then hold for earnings

I'm unloading into this action. You know frickery is coming on an options expiry Friday.
I'm thinking we revisit 98-99 at some point.

I wonder what's going to happen if the tariff decision comes down from the USSC.

Wow. Cleared $104. I'm just sitting on my shares, but I hope IT_Dawg and BB88 are making some money...

Had 3 1/16 expiring 95s, so glad to see that spike. Sold with some really nice gains.

I think so. I think all the AI growth stocks got punished during the last earnings cycle, so this time around people are going to realize how valuable these companies are.
What do you think of the news that BB88 posted about the off grid data center in Vineland? Is that going to revolutionize and take the power grid bottleneck out of the equation for building new data centers? If so, how long before everyone else is doing it?

Today is starting to look just like yesterday. Stock price shoots way up in the morning and then starts a gradual downturn in the afternoon, as people take profits. I think that once this stock starts going down, people get nervous, due to the stock's past history...

Don't read into it any more than this:
