I closed out my Feb20 $100 options this morning for 50% profit.

I suspect I’ll get another opportunity to re-enter.

I'm here to play ball once more, but I will never do what I did before, as I willingly and stubbornly lost my arse.

It's still too fresh.

My approach now is more disciplined.
I sold from 102 to 103 and went short in several places (all closed out).
I sold so much of my account this morning that I've essentially locked in 11% gains today.

This is what I'm going to have to do going forward.
I can't even buy back in today. I went to a cash account as a self imposed guardrail.
So I've got a good chunk of cash to deploy come Monday.

If an opportunity presents itself, I'll get into some March and May near the money. Nothing silly.
And I'll buy NBIL if NBIS is below $100.

I did my best to get it to run by selling those calls....rarely do I time anything correctly.

You weren't the only one. I'm right there with you.

It was a game we were playing and we thought we had the rules figured out and had the deck stacked in our favor. The stock did what it was supposed to do, until it didn't. The people who really rig the game stepped in and reshuffled the cards.

you could always just buy the shares LOL. Glad to see you back

I’ve never traded an option in my life and don’t plan to start. I know it’s common and popular but sometimes reading y’all’s posts it seems like the default way to invest for some without regard for the risk. Anyway…I’ve lost plenty of money myself being too aggressive and trading without stops, which I guess is the same thing so what do I know

I’m up 230%. I’ll stick with shares. Ain’t no sweat off my back when it went from $130 to $80.

2-4 months out?! That’s still super risky. Theta destroys premium at an accelerated rate. Macro events are unpredictable and unforgiving.

Investors (or rather gamblers) who bought near the money call options this time last year with expiratory dates in March and or May 2025 would tell you don’t do it. This time last year, no one was predicting a huge selloff 60-90 days later.

I think it could have to do that information is becoming public about the off the grid energy solution at the Vineland data center. They will have 400 MW of power on line and it will autonomous.

That could be huge, although I don't know if they have a moat around that solution. I don't see why other data center competitors couldn't do the same thing, but for the design work needed. NBIS does a lot of custom work on software, cooling systems, racks, and now electric. It all works together. Their competitors use off the rack solutions that are less work, but don't necessarily work in synch as well as what NBIS does.

With all the talk about power being a bottleneck, AND the environmentalists protesting setting back projects, it is good news to see that NBIS brings their own off the grid power solution to the table. No impact to the grid.

I have to retract what I said, because IREN and CRWV are both up even more than NBIS.

Seems like maybe the sentiment is changing and investors aren't so worried about an AI bubble.

If that is the case, and this is a long term trend, things look good...

It jumped almost this high on Friday and fell right back to sub 100 before closing. I suspect it will do it again

If you bought over 100, you may not remember the days of last summer. This stock is volatile. It is not 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, but more like 20 steps forward and 15 steps back.

The MSFT contract and the AI bubble sentiment threw the pattern into a dizzy and the stock lost a lot of market value, but I believe we are left with a very undervalued stock.

It will probably continue with some terrific days and some not so good days, but IMO, this stock will be up big by the end of the year.

The executive team continues to execute and they are the most innovative neocloud company out there. That should pay off by the end of 2026.

I bought at 30 and on increments on the way up...I'm just mad that I bought more shares above 100 than below 100. I'm just bitter right now. I'm hopeful, but bitter.

Okay, then you should be "mostly" green?

At any rate, is it just me, or does it feel more like it did last summer, again? I mean, it goes up, then it loses, but it feels like the trend is still upward.

We just went through a period where it shot up $30/share over night, and then another $40/share within a few weeks. Then that AI bubble stuff happened and it lost over $60/share, where it just went down, down, down, and every time you thought it had hit a new low, it went down again.

Now it seems to be back in the pattern where it is up and down, but more up days than down days.

Having said that, you know people are going to be taking profits this afternoon and we will lose a good bit of the morning gains.

This is a marathon, not a sprint...
