I’m still holding just for the hell of it. I bought in on the rise up around 100. It’s only $2500 so who cares really.

GME is still 122% short.
And I’m not here propping anything up. I got out when the getting out was good.
Besides, if those shorts are at say $400 then that’s a lot different than at $10.

Good luck.
“But muh short interest is high” tells you all you need to know about this phenomenon.

Good info. It’s clear that there are systematic flaws that led to this situation and some renegades on WSB’s shouldn’t be to blame. As algos and AI take over the market, it’s only a matter of time before they get sophisticated enough to identify similar issues/opportunities and take advantage of them — possibly in an even more shrewd and prolific fashion.

Also wsb has undergone a coup in the past 24 hours. Wild times.

It’s apparently been rectified by the reddit admins but my understanding is that wsb was first started by a guy and some others let’s call them “group A”
Group a started wsb, but the main dudes who moderate wsb and have grown it a ton even before gme are a newer group. Group A have apparently been pretty inactive in the sub and not really involved in the wsb community.
Well group A has seen all the attention wsb has gotten over the last few weeks and has popped up again in an attempt to monetize the sub and secure movie deals etc. The newer, active mod group largely opposed this and many were subsequently banned.
A few posted screenshots of the mod conversations showing the group A mods discussing how to get rich off of wsb’s new fame and that they are going to work with the winklevoss bros to produce a Netflix movie or some shite based on wsb.
Group A mods started whacking any thread mentioning this and banning all who called them out.
Apparently on Reddit the mod system is set up by seniority. So basically the group A mods, who were more senior than any of the newer mods that are actually active, had carte blanche to jettison all of the newer mods and retake the sub for themselves.
Apparently they’ve run into issues similar to this earlier in 2020 when one of the original founding wsb mods tried to monetize the sub in some sort of shady trading competition. Reddit’s owners had to step in and remove him from wsb because none of the people who wanted him gone had the power to remove him.
This is a hasty summary but that’s my understanding of it. Apparently though the newer mods were effective in begging the Reddit admins for help and I think all of the group A people have been banned and the newer mods have been reinstated.

amazing how much content is out there that I really don’t need to know about. Like, “moderator on Reddit” is some sort of honorific.
really?
