A more realistic version would be those 3 lined up on the opposite side of a glory hole from Biden on his knees.

Not sure if they are trying to screw him ,but rather just take advantage of his extreme incompetence.

Any oil gurus can explain how those tiny countries have so much oil. It is just mindboggling to me because I have no understanding of it.

In 2018 Texas out produced every nation individually in the world. The oils under the us but we just aren’t allowed to drill like the past.

I heard someone explain once that we have just as much oil in the US, but it's far more of a bitch to get out. The ground under Texas is rocky and hard to drill through. In comparison, the ground in the Middle East is relatively easy. So they have to expend far less to collect more, putting them at an advantage for output.

Biden didn’t want to expand production in the US because….. climate change…. So that brought us more dependence

Is the OPEC oil cleaner burning? I don’t understand the logic in Biden asking OPEC to produce more oil when he has essentially cratered oil production here. We are not less dependent on oil with this strategy (if it can be called that), we are just more dependent on foreign oil now.

There is oil almost everywhere. It's just a lot of it is tough to extract. The Saudis are sitting on some of the easiest fields to work in the world.

Exactly and you would think if they are truly worried about the environmental aspects they would want us to produce as much oil as necessary. At least oil in the US has to follow the US laws whereas we don't have control on how foreign countries produce and refine their oil. This seems like it would lead to a net worse situation for the environment, globally speaking.

The Dems talked a lot about getting off oil-based energy, but what laws/regulations were imposed that are actually inhibiting US oil production? The main issue is the very slow revamp of oil production following the decreased demand and supply issues (e.g. fracking sand shortages) that started in 2020 (covid). Biden is literally begging the US oil companies and OPEC to produce more oil. The oil companies are being overly cautious in ramping up production because of profit concerns, and OPEC is just screwing with us.

Begging them how? What incentives is he providing? What policies have been put in place to ensure they don't try to run them out of business with regulation as soon as the "crisis" is over?

If I was running an oil company, why would I make capital intensive investments in the US when 1/2 or more of the politicians are trying to run your company out of business?

Production tanked during Trump's presidency (due to covid killing demand), and according to US oil production charts has been slowly creeping back up. Should be back up to peak sometime in 2023 it looks like.

I would love to learn more about US/worldwide oil economics but there's just so much partisan bullshite to navigate through.

Anyone know of any good non partisan, knowledgeable resources I can read more on it?
