They did, Byrd was trying to basically chop block the Offensive linemen from ASH, not cut, but one engage and the other dive low. A lot of twisting ankles on JT when they could tackle him, that’s from his own mouth. Byrd also talked a lot of trash, but it looked like they were trying to convince themselves they could win. They found out they could not.

My son is hurt but plays for Byrd. First, I’m glad season is done as it was a good year. I don’t give 2 shits about having to travel anywhere. 2nd, they aren’t trash talking anymore than ASH. I was near the sideline and you could hear both teams doing it, which is every game. I’ve never seen any cheap shots with Byrd anymore than I have with Ash or any other team. I can guarantee their coaches don’t teach them to do that. I hope Ash wins them state, great team.

Watch the replay. The illegal formations were the right calls every time.

Okay so explain why those formations were good the first 12 games we played but not the 13th

And explain why we had like 6 of those in the game when you’d think we figure out where we went wrong the first time

And the holding too

Zachary has an independent school district (read: tax dollars) and it also has the benefit of being out in the middle of nowhere.

CHS has land and money but I think you are drastically underestimating the size of a football stadium and parking footprint.

Either way, the venue is fine. It’s not conveniently located but it’s fine for the 6-7 times a year it is needed.

Catholic has room where the current on campus stadium is. Parking is the issue. If they could buy all of west Moreland and secure it then it could work

I mean there is plenty of room to make these bleachers massive if they wanted to

ASH had at least two OL guys go out because Byrd was blocking low. Luckily, they were not seriously hurt, but it was pretty obvious what Byrd was doing. Tanner Townsend brought it to the attention of the officials more than once. It may not have been intentional every time, but they were doing it.

I mean you do know Neville had a player get hurt against Ash for the same thing. He ended up being fine but it does happen. We’ve had several players on our lines get hurt for the same thing, kids screw up during plays. Nobody is teaching to do that

bigger moment less focus maybe - but sometimes players not checking with the wing official or confirming on or off is usually the case as it puts more than 4 in back field.

if the wing official has his arm chucked - it means the widest guy is OFF the line and in back field and if slots point that they are off - they are counted as OFF(in backfield). You see those type of mistakes with teams that have kids playing deep in playoffs for first time.

keep in mind generally speaking playoff crews stay away from fouls that do not affect the play except for safety fouls and pre snap and snap .

I agree on the parking situation at Catholic. Between them and SJA a block away you have a mess everyday with 2,500 extra people in the area. Can’t imagine what a few thousand more in a Friday night would look like

They would need to use west Moreland and have all parking there with paid security and traffic direction

I just watched about 30 offensive plays for ASH and I only saw one d player for byrd go low and it was legal - I did see 2 Byrd defenders get pushed into ash linemen and in the process fell and rolled them - which is not a foul. I'm not watching any more than that.

I went away from that game when LCA was up by two scores and started watching ED White/Vandebilt & ASH/Byrd Next thing I knew, Dunham was up 4

Incredible game, 21-0 fourth quarter. All three touchdowns were 30-40 yard Haven passes. Dunham’s tiny defensive line took over the game.

I think they could do more seating there and they already own that Westmoreland shopping center and parking.

It is considerably less expensive for Catholic to use Memorial for a few football games than it is to take up all of that space for, again, 6-7 nights out of the year.

They already use it for track, lacrosse, and soccer plus the JV and 9th grade football. It’s unnecessary for them to build an on-campus venue. This is coming from a CHS alum, former player and current parent.

Iowa has stopped Jennings, Leesville and now Franklin Parish. Very impressive on both sides of the ball. As they have scored 50, 60 and 40 against those 3 teams also. They run alot but complete passes when needed #4 Walker and #3 Charles go both ways for them. Should be a good game vs Franklington with a shot at the dome on the line

Oh I’d prefer Olympia all day. Just explaining a rationale for not rushing to build an on campus stadium.

Central will get ran out of Neville. After that upset last year, be prepared for a totally different Neville team

If Neville doesn’t clean A LOT of shite up, we will get beat. Plus we lost Will Campbells little brother for the first half due to an ejection

Except the body slam and other player coming in stomping by the back’s head last night. Personally I think it’s football. Let the boys play. We’ve been called for a slam multiple times though. Seems subjective. Crew was from Thibodaux.
