Nothing like spending a weekend at a tournament during the holidays.

What holiday is this weekend?

Nobody had a #1 SGS vs. #2 CHS win-or-go-home game pegged this early in the Dunham Tourney, but that’s exactly what we get tonight. Buckle up.

Maybe because there is a charter school in EBR called CSAL?

Those are low scoring games, too.

My McKinley Middle Mustangs are averaging 58 - 22 so far this season. Wonder how they would stack up against the Catholics.

We dominated public school football too. Outscored opponents 207 - 6 for the season.

There are a lot of tournaments across BR and opportunities to mix it up with teams not in the same league or frequent opponents. There are also tournaments in New Orleans teams can enter.

Sure. I keep meaning to post some updated rankings after the crazy Dunham Tournament. Definitely the most wild opening weekend I can remember. Previous ranking in parenthesis:

1. St. Aloysius (3) - After a loss to St. Jude, they won vs Dunham JV, Episcopal, U High, Parkview and OLOM before losing in the finals to Dunham V.

2. OLOM (5) - Defeated Dunham JV, Episcopal and U High before losing to Dunham V and St. Aloysius

3. St. Jude (6) -Notched wins over St. Aloysius and CHS and losses to Dunham and Parkview.

4. CHS (BR) (2) - Followed up a 6 point victory over St. George with a 4 point loss to St. Jude.

5. St. George (1) - An unexpected 2 and done in the Dunham tournament with losses to Parkview and CHS.

6. St. Theresa (4) - They will likely move up once we get more data points.

7. St. Jean Vianney (7) -

8. Most Blessed Sacrament (8)-

They must have some upcoming Quad 1 games on the schedule!

STA dropped 2 spots to 6th despite being 4-0 and skull dragging 3 of those teams?!? Two of which are public schools in AP who would beat the crap out of most schools in the CSAA….If you’re gonna take the time to do this at least put in the effort to get it right.

St. Jude Cougars vs All Y’all

As a former coach of one of the St. Jude teams when they were in 6th grade, these write ups are shockingly accurate

I remember reading the thread when my kids were in 8th grade and I agreed with the entire pre-season writeup

Last year STM 6th grade had some really big kids. Are they playing in another league?
