Surprised he isn’t humbled. Guess he got a bigger head with his GS unfortunately.

He is waiting to hit another one out tonight. He will apologize for all homerrun trot antics at one time

So weird, there was nothing to apologize for.

I thought it was handled well.

Don’t like the bat being carried, hit a HR yourself and carry it too (which is what the Nats did). Usually the pussies in this sport hit the other guy with a pitch and then have a bunch of hugging at the mound. Kudos to the nats and Soto for feeding it back to them.

It was a douche move. Apology means nothing. He should know better. Soto reciprocated the douchiness. ARod topped the douche meter when he tweeted #KarmaHomerun after Soto's blast.

Bregman shouldn't have done that, but Soto's antics have been low class the whole series.

, no.

Soto is genuine, both on and off the field.

Bregman is a nerd off the field so he compensates by being a douche on it.

ETA - Lots of butthurt Stros fans around here. Soto shuffles in the box and people lose their minds. It's pathetic.

Soto is legitimately entertaining. Bregman is cringeworthy.

Guy acts like a douche, then disappears like Houdini for the rest of the game.

MVP?..MVP?..MVP?

If the Astros win last night, he doesn't apologize for shite. Matter of fact, he's probably carrying the bat around in the locker room celebration.

Hard to take his apology seriously with him being a well known douche lord.

Soto takes the cake, though.

1) Why is the whole "carry the bat to 1st base" thing a big deal? Why did feelings get hurt by this? As much as I love baseball, this "unwritten rule" bullshite is too much.

2) If Bregman doesn't apologize, he gets ripped. Bregman does apologize, and that still isn't enough. Not good enough. So what do you want exactly?

Both of these guys would have been beaned in their next at bat, world series or not!

You spend a lot of time with Bregman? How do you know this?

Soto and Bregman are both great players who seem to enjoy playing the game correctly. I saw Bregman enough at LSU to know that he is a pretty genuine guy about how he plays the game.

If carrying a bat to 1st base is such an outrageous show of douchiness, that is pretty pathetic.

Basically every public appearance the dude has suggests this.

I tend to agree. I don't have a problem with either of them doing it. That being said, the Astros pretty clearly found Bregman's behavior pretty awkward. Altuve's face says it all, plus the first base coach basically slapped the bat out of Bregman's hands to the point where Bregman turned around between first and second.

They're pretty public stars. Just because Bregman played at LSU and is now with Houston doesn't mean you have to be intentionally obtuse about it.

Soto really isn’t at all, and I don’t care in the least that Bregman went to LSU. I just think it’s funny you’re posting definitive statements on both as people off the field

He shuffles around in the batters box, grabs his crotch, and nods his head in the most arrogant manner possible towards the pitcher. That is considered genuine? Genuine douchebag maybe. How many other players do you see pulling the kind of antics Soto does?

I guess I'm old school. I don't think there is any place in the sport for that BS. He has tons of misplaced pitches coming his way if he keeps it up.

Fair enough. Suggesting Bregman is awkward and a nerd is pretty standard fare around here. I'd think most Stros fans would agree too.

Ahh, that explains a lot.

Soto seems to be enjoying himself far more than anyone else on the field. As a result, he should "get what's coming to him"
