The NFL should rename the Comeback Player of the Year Award in his name. Good for him!

If yall may be unaware of the context to my previous post, its worth a look on google. Hes candid about it. He literally says they wanted him to quit lol.

All you have to know about Alex smith and his toughness is that his first hit he took from the leg injury was by Aaron Donald.
remember seeing that highlight and laughing my arse off at Donald. When he gets to the sideline they accidently show him saying "That MF leg is strong" while laugh with the D-line.

Urban should find a spot on his coaching staff for him, if Smith wanted. Would be perfect reunion to come and help groom Lawrence.

Absolutely amazing that he ever stepped out on the field again.

Whatever he does, more power to him.
Just don’t tell him to break a leg first.

7 (garbage) offensive coordinators in 7 years to start his career until a staff with decent competence came in and helped him put it back together. Too late to completely undo the damage and tendencies he built up over the horrible years (e.g. aversion to slinging it), but it would have been really easy to call it quits when you're living off of pre-CBA #1 overall pick money and everyone thinks you're total trash.
His career is one of resilience even outside of the injury. Will always appreciate his service to the red and gold. He deserved so much better.

I cant help but remember his goofy arse celebrating a big playoff game against the saints by running around without swinging his arms.
Like the chick in that episode of Seinfeld. Lol
I say goofy as respectfully as possible. Seems like a great role model for kids. Hell, hes a role model to me and other adults I'm sure, to be honest.
And I'm 34

Alex defines courage and fortitude. Had a great career that he should be proud of. Others can learn a lot from him. Curious what path he takes from here.

They'll probably name it after Josh Gordon instead. He has done it more than anyone else.
