Anyone who has spent time in the Midwest knows that THE number one defining feature of midwesterners is a maniacal, single-minded obsession with money. These money grubbing midwestern hay seeds would gladly burn it all down if it meant they could line their own pockets with a little more filthy lucre.

There is quite literally nothing about that article that I don't hate the idea of.

Nothing.

The real battle is going to be what poll and how they create that poll to determine the rankings. The BIG won’t let the current status of 10 SEC teams being ranked stand to their detriment. That’s gonna be the behind the scenes battle.

Hopefully they say frick that and continue to play the only game that matters!

This is a direct result of the ESPN/SEC corruption of the past 25 years that you guys were fine with. ESPN’s manipulation of the polls to put teams in the BCS and 4 game playoff led to all this.

The SEC was simply to manipulative in their quest for power and as they won Natty after Natty due to poll manipulation then they screamed and shouted in everyone’s face about it. The other conferences are now responding with silent acquiescence to the BIG because of it. I’m a southern homer and even I want the BIG’s plan to succeed because I’m tired of the SEC/ESPN duo controlling the sport.

You guys brag about your teams and claim every loss is a good loss yet Miami lost 2 ACC games and yet those 2 teams won’t be granted top 10 preseason rankings yet ESPN will tell us half of the top 10 next season should be SEC teams. It’s absurd and the public now recognizes it. If the ACC showed as poorly in the playoffs and bowl games as the SEC did you guys would be laughing. The only teams from the SEC who should be preseason ranked in top 10 are UGA and Ole Miss due to both QB’s returning and their play. Yet ESPN will tell us that A&M, Texas, LSU, Bama, and Tennessee should all be up there when none of us know what those teams will actually look like.

And this is all based on being ranked highly allows you lose and drop a little and recover much faster. Take an A&M and Louisville. A&M will be preseason top 10. Louisville will be around 16/17. Louisville looses early and possibly falls to being unranked and it would take 2-3 more wins to get back. A&M losses an early game and drops to 12 and w8nsins the next week and gets back in the top 10. The public sees the total corruption.

How the CFP would handle making up for the cost of losing the conference title games would be one of the biggest looming issues. The Power 4 championship games have media value of at least $200 million, and that figure represents only a television valuation. It doesn't account for the tens of millions the games would account for with tickets, sponsorships and game-day sales. The financial trick of a 16-game playoff if the sport were to eventually divorce itself from conference title games is that it would add four games, only two of which would be up for bid to bring in new money. (The current contract accounts for ESPN owning the added games up to 14 teams.)

They think 1-2 seasons can wipe out 30 years of memory. The bitterness and jealousy just ooze from the comments.

SEC becoming business partners, with ESPN at the exact right time time when ESPN began total MONOPOLY of CFB, controlling the narrative and Playoffs turned a sport into nothing more than a promotional profit scheme, turned off fans across the Country, set the dominoes in place for media power struggles and is the main reason we're at this uncontrolled fractured demise in pursuit of $$$$ for a media mogul and their partners in crime.

ESPN decided to own all of CFB with their only interest being the promotion and success of one Conference, at the expense of the health of the sport without care or conscience that this blatant controlled narrative alienated and turned off fanbases everywhere else.

You can’t just admit they dominated football for two decades and drew more eyeballs can you? It has to be a conspiracy to keep the poor Big Ten teams out of the conversation

Lets be completely honest here. Neither even on their best years wouldn't make much noise if they did get in. They never threaten to win the title. So they can just opt to not be included and continue to play "America's Game" like it should be. Just like with the Bayou Classic playing when it is always excluded both Southern and Grambling from making the !-AA playoffs for years. That game was more important to them.

No they won Natty after Natty due to the fact they had the best team and was the best conference.

Who didn't win a NC due to poll manipulation? Every time the SEC team got the benefit of the doubt during the BCS era they proved they were the best team by winning it on the field vs polls.

If anyone is melting it is this board. The past 2 years have seen thread after thread of you SEC homers whining because you are no longer given a free pass to get into the Natty. Now that you have to earn it the SEC has been shut out 3 years in a row. Heck, the little ole ACC has had a more recent team in the Natty than the mighty SEC.

Maybe your league should stop whining and start winning games that matter. While you still care about FLA/UGA or Bama/Auburn the rest of the country has moved on to higher stakes.

Why are you guys so scared of a 24 team playoff? You don't think your top 6 teams could survive?
