At worst, he waits until September to resume playing on Tour. It's more likely, though, that he rejoins with little or no penalty. My guess is that it's somewhere between a September start and no penalty. I wouldn't be surprised if the Tour mandates he has to play the lesser stops (John Deere, Rocket, Zurich and the like) and he can't play the TPC.
Brooks might eat a long suspension so the tour can save face because he doesn’t really care to continue to play professional golf
He was apathetic to non majors before he got shite rich. Now he is loaded.
He is probably closer to retirement then playing the Houston open or whatever non-major tour stop

"Brooks, we're well within our rights to keep you out until September. However, we'd like you back for the good of the game and Tour. How about we meet in the middle and you play these events? In September, all restrictions are gone."
It’s definitely not that easy

You have no clue. You don't think Brooks talked to people on the Tour before this move was made?

I mean I get taking some time off to spend with family and recharge but he's 35. I don't think there's enough money to make me not want to ever do anything anymore at that age. Plus his career is the thing that most people with generational wealth do for fun.

Let’s be honest. The only thing established players care about are the majors. Same for fans.
So if you are Koepka ths play is to just play a couple tune up events + major. That’s it.
Nobody is tuning in for weekly events whether it’s PGA or LIV. Wouldn’t be surprised if PGA loses a ton in rights fees next TV renewal. Tiger in his prime is never coming back to carry TV.
PGA has the same problem that ATP is just beginning to feel with no big 3.

Oh no, I’d pursue the shite out of things I was interested in and set up something I was passionate about.
I doubt he feels the same way about golf as those who obsess over it as a hobby though.

And you wouldn’t win 5 majors with this thought process. These dudes are nuts
