A rare sane, logical post here and spot on. My wife is from Chicago and I am glad the Bears won. A big reason why some (but not all) LSU fans dislike Caleb has nothing to do with him and everything to do with the bizarrely antagonistic takes from some more vocal online Bears fans re: Jayden Daniels. Both guys can be good at the same time.

Yeah, I mean, it’s 50/50 on who ends up better between Daniels and Williams. I’m very comfortable saying I’d take both over Penix and McCarthy (and probably over Nix), but wouldn’t take either over Maye.

ETA: But again, Bears could’ve traded down and added so much draft capital…

I will say the guy is entertaining as hell and I’m genuinely entertained by his combo of mistakes, insane playmaking ability and zesty demeanor.

I hate the bears and Chicago fans in general but I’m kinda pulling for him.

Williams without Ben Johnson 5-12

Has he ever won a championship other than a Catholic League Conference championship on a Hail Mary in HS? Conference championship? We know he didn't win a national championship.

With a shitty head coach.

Doesn’t support the argument you’re trying to make.

I know all the armchair talent evaluators love to define whether a player is a bust ASAP, but a 2 year sample size ain’t the way.

That’s not even an argument worth retorting. A good QB and a good HC are like a marriage, they need each other. It’s not like Ben Johnson is going to leave for another HC gig. He’s going to be Caleb’s coach for a while, him saying Caleb only did well because of his coach is basically conceding he’s going to be great for another 10 years.
