CFB is better when conference races are competitive. Bama, Clemson, OSU, Oklahoma winning year after year kills the buzz a little. Easy for me to say as an LSU fan, but them beating Bama is kind of refreshing. Getting different schools in the playoffs energizes more fan bases instead of having the same 4 or 5 every year. The ACC being a forgone conclusion sucks.

And what the NFL did to Thursday night is unforgivable. It's good for the NFL's bottom line and nothing else.

This is the real answer IMO.

Right now there’s maybe one team in each conference worth a damn except the ever present bottleneck in the SEC

Everyone.
When it comes to college football, the more parity, the better. Part of the reason why many say 2007 is the best season ever.

Yale was a dominant power in the late 19th and early 20th century. Would be cool if they became relevant again.

USC for sure. The Pac-12 is boring when they are down.
Agreed. USC is the team I loved to hate. Now I just feel sorry for them.

USC makes for such a great villain.
I like Miami being relevant with teams full of insane criminals along with Florida St.

Honestly what I miss the most is when the Big East was ballin around 2005. Awesome Thursday night games between WVU, Louisville, Rutgers, UConn.

Wow, okay

Nebraska needs to become relevant again.
They need to go back to the Big 12 and rekindle some of those great rivalries like OU and Colorado

I wonder how Nebraska fans feel about that now. They would certainly have an easier time of it in the big 12 north than big 10 + exposure to Texas recruits again. These days, a north division would be their's to dominate.

Team Nike, aka Oregon.

Who can't root against a team with more weird uniform colors and combos than anyone else. Remember their role in 2014.

First thing that came to my mind, but they’ll never be what they were in the late 80s/90s. OB is history, the university has changed and the fanbase is lame.

I was so excited when the turnover chain became a thing.

For me it’s the pac 12 in general. When they have a few really good teams it makes the 9pm games much easier to stay awake for.

They were always very solid. You didn't expect them to be contenders, but you expected them to compete in most games and potentially upset someone's season.

Felt like they had more reasonable fans and they knew what they were.

Was just a different era when the ACC was more balanced even if the top wasn't as potent as Clemson currently is.

Literally any second team in one team conferences. So lately, it would be VT or UVA or GT or someone like that.

The only thing worse than an entire down conference is an entire down conference except for one team.

Notre Dame, USC and a swaggering Miami.

Despite the big name, I don't think Texas being great moves the dial all that much where you love to hate them or is all that important.

Certainly not Tennessee, except for Tennessee fans...weird that you included them in your OP.

USC and Notre Dame being great makes everyone get their panties in a twist either for them or against them - as the media goes full blitzkrieg...or at the very least, the ones who hate them start claiming it's all just a media campaign. You either like those teams or you hate them. There's no apathy.
