The least shocking thing would be media Darlings Notre Dame and Bama making it with Miami left on the outside looking in

ACC getting left out while two G5s get in will give the talking heads fodder from now until the title game.

If it happens I wonder if we see an immediate push to revise the rules to include all 4 P4 champs and/or expand the field to 16?

At the same time the championship game can’t just be a glorified exhibition game.

In the future the 9 game SEC will clean a lot of this up.

You won’t have oddities like A&M nearly exclusively playing the bottom of the SEC

Bama has by far the worst loss of the three and has been blown out twice. They have no business in the playoffs.

I am fine saying that a team on the bubble but just in on the second to last week gets in if they are competitive in the CG; hit if they get blown out, then it should hurt. Period.

I think a team not good enough to make the ACCC should be hurt.

Once again

If you remove Bama, after being a playoff team before the conference championship, then teams in a similar spot will elect not to play in conference championship games going forward.

So that leaves two. And if you rank ND ahead of Miami, with the same record, and a head to head win for Miami, then every team should remove every big match up for their schedule, because it means absolutely nothing.

There is no way they can set this kind of precedent. Where the committee really messed up was having ND ahead of Miami. Now they will be forced to flip them with both sitting at home
