You’d lose that bet.
Of course I pulled for them during that series. I didn’t know they were juicing
But my dislike of Clemens came back in full force after all that was reported
It’s a really sad statement on the current manners in the South that people question my character because of which sports teams I choose to root or not root for.

I don't think I've ever changed allegiances as a fan, but I don't see anything bad about it.

I switched from the Lakers to the Heat. A few years later I switched to the Dubs. Now I like the Nets.

Was a huge Spurs fan from 2002 when I was 13 until the kawhi debacle and pop becoming a sjw. I don’t really have a team now per se but unbelievably I lean towards the mavs recently and as always a slight affinity to the home state team grizz

So you moved and followed the local team? Shocking I tell ya!

- when your professional team is stolen away. Like when my SuperSonics were jacked away by the small dick, tornado infested shithole Oklahoma City. Now my favorite team is the smallest market (non-trailer trash shithole OKC) that will give the NBA its lowest ratings. Bucks-Jazz 2021! Go Sonics, frick the NBA!

Changing allegiances as a fan
The only allegiance I changed was from the Brass to “I stopped watching hockey”

Only allegiance I ever switched in my life was away from the Texans to the Bengals.
That was this year before the draft happened. They redid their jerseys, have great young talent and seem like they are building to win.
I think dropping the Texans is justified. Organization is a dumpster fire.

I've never changed allegiances, but I have dropped watching teams altogether. Syracuse I'll probably always support, would never root for another college team. But the longer they suck, the less interest I have in football, especially going to games. We'll see how basketball goes when Boeheim retires. I've dropped the NBA and the NFL almost completely. I haven't watched baseball since the 90s Yankees teams with Paul O'Neil, Bernie Williams, Mariano Rivera and them. Haven't watched hockey since Messier and the Rangers won. The older I get, the less interest I seem to have in sports. The new crop of players across a lot of sports are mostly unlikeable anyway. About the only sport I follow nowadays is the UFC.

Grew up as an LSU fan because my family is originally from Lake Charles, went to UT (in state) and as a student immediately became a diehard Longhorn.
eta - I do still root for my parents' happiness who both went to LSU, but I don't consider the Tigers my team.

I gave up on the NBA altogether when the Jazz left New Orleans. I'd watch a Jordan game or a Shaq game from time to time, but I really didn't have any team that I rooted for. And, I really couldn't give a sh!t as to who won any game or championship.
As far as LSU, I don't remember a time when I wasn't a fan. BUT, F*CK LSU until they get rid of that IGNORANT no-good piece of RACIST f*cking FILTH they just installed as President. Even when his IGNORANT a$$ is kicked to the curb, it will be hard for me to come back.

Bucs are now my second favorite team despite being in Saints division because of Tommy Brady

I don’t think it’s “bad” to change allegiances (or split allegiances) if you move away, to a city that has another professional team. For instance, I’m a Pelicans fan, but if I moved to Denver, I would have way more access to the Nuggets than the Pels, as far as going to games and such. I would still be a Pels fan, but I would also probably be a Nuggets fan (just a random example).

As a Cleveland sports fan, there isn't a single fan base out there, that has had more reason to switch allegiances than that of Cleveland sports fans. We had our Browns stolen by that traitor Art Modell in 95', but we stayed true and won our Browns back in 99'. Then what we never realized, is it wasn't just our team that was stolen, it was our front office and our culture. We have suffered for the last 21 years through absolutely abysmal football, there is no comparison, yet we stayed true. We are FINALLY on the cusp of becoming a legit threat in the NFL and man does it feel good and exciting. The Indians currently have THE longest drought in MLB without a World Series dating back to 1948. We have suffered through some agonizing losses. Now, the ownership is changing the entire history of the team. The name and colors. So Cleveland will have lost not one, but TWO franchises in essence. The Cavs are a lost cause. Without LeBron leading this franchise, we will be in the basement for who knows how long?
BUT....
Even through all of that, i will NEVER change my allegiance to my teams. Because, if/when they ever win a championship, the pure and raw emotion of staying true and loyal and experiencing those emotions with friends and family is something magical. When the Cavs won in 16'...ill never forget seeing my grandpa and dad both cry tears of joy. Switching allegiances will NEVER bring you that kind of joy and satisfaction...no matter how hard you try to justify it.

I have news for all of you, and I hate to crush all of your soft bears, but here it is. All 30 MLB teams have employed a player who broke the rules at some point. I can list at least 1 for every team, if you like, but the point is be careful throwing stones from your glass houses. Your team has cheated, too, many of them in the last 4 years.
