Rubber pieces? They are decals. If he bought them at a store the Riddell, AHI would not have had them on there.

Nice work OP, i like yours better than mine, i did them in high school before the decals were easily available so handpainted most of mine. Had plans to make a bunch of them like yours but ran out of helmets and time.
How do you find the exact color/type of spray paint? i always had trouble with that. Ended up tossing a few that turned out wrong.

What does this cost you per helmet? Do you remember the exact paint colors from walmart? Been wanting to do this for a long time.

Very cool.
I can definitely tell that some of the helmets don't match color wise, but that doesn't take away from the work you have done and the collection you have built.
A good friend of mine has a hydrographic shop that does helmets for a variety of Nike schools. Really cool to see how they are done.

Decal set is roughly 20-25 bucks
Some come with the back and front decal, some just the large side decal
Can of paint. 4 bucks
Helmet (if I'm lucky and get one at thrift store) 2-6 bucks
Usually I have to pay about 10-15 for an old helmet
