Brantley and Yuli are signed through this year, JV through next year, Altuve and Bregman through 2024. My guess is 2025 will be the reset season

8 for 280 would be too much term and money
If he had that offer, we wouldn’t be having this conversation
And of course a 1 and done opt out could be 40 first year and 35 per for 5 more
Doable
BTW, our boy Collin just signed with Braves, who let Chris Martin go to Cubs

But you have to start making decisions on how to allocate money to Tucker, Yordan, and the young pitchers at that time too.
It’s all very interesting.

That's true. Extended Tucker and Alvarez might be part of a continued window. Maybe Framber, Garcia and a few prospects (Pena/Leon/Lee) play a part in that.

Then the forfeited draft picks rear it’s ugly head unless Click can work some Tampa Bay voodoo magic to start having top 100 guys developed out of thin air

That’s why long term Correa makes no sense
Look at what Anthopoulis did
Tougher to do with a 27 yo, but everything counts
2 year 80 M makes sense on both sides. Correa would still be under 30 for a long term deal and get 2 shots at another WS
I’m unaware of any 40M per deals in baseball history. So his Lindor pissing contest is somewhat satisfied

love fellow Astros fans, this thread has me convinced we struggle to win 75 games!

Agreed, and if balls out he can opt out and get a massive deal in 2023.
Astros get a great player for one more year, Correa gets a brinks truck with no state income tax, and Scott Boras gets his return on a mega deal.

Looks like the Jays might get Chapman. They’re gonna to be really good

This A's fire sale is weird. They were 10 games over .500 last year. Olson and Chapman both had two more years of control. Bassitt only one, but they could have traded all three during the season if things weren't going well.

This is what they’ve always done
