For example, I’d love to see Lebron highlights from the NBA. What I don’t want to see is Lebron tweets about how he’s “literally being hunted” in the streets. There’s a big difference. And you know that. But I understand you have a schtick to uphold around here.
Okay but in this situation it would be like if Lebron tweeted out he’s being hunted and because of that he’s refusing to play basketball for a month and then you’d be upset that ESPN was discussing him not playing basketball

Man I feel like I used up a lot of my youth watching too much sports center I couldn't get enough of it.
I honestly can say I got burned down on it before they really started changing their format on SportsCenter and I never really got into all the other shows that you were talking about like PTI and what not.
Just watching games live and watching some post game commentary and some pregame commentary is more than good enough for me these days.

Live sporting events are being cancelled because of what you’re talking about
It would be weird if ESPN didn’t talk about it
I’m not saying ESPN shouldn’t report on it. But it was put first and foremost in the show and the things they talked about were definitely not sports related (especially Wilbon obviously).

It’s a pretty major development for 3 of the 4 major US sports leagues, what else do you expect?

This is such a funny way to start a post about how bad ESPN is.
Why’s that? I don’t hate ESPN like a lot do around here. So I wanted to say that. I actually still don’t hate ESPN. But they sure do seem to be trying to alienate customers like me, who are the vast majority of sports fans.

Not really. I’d expect ESPN’s news show (SC) to report it. My point is they lead with that story and then talk about the non sports aspect of it. On a sports show. I feel like you’re being obtuse at this point.

To do a 30-second story that an event unrelated to sports is causing the postponement of three games in the Minneapolis area tonight. For more coverage, go to ABC News.
In other sports news ...
See that’s not hard. As someone brilliantly said above, going to ESPN and expecting social/political coverage Is like going to MSNBC for cooking tips.

Yeah I used to watch it about five times in the mornings and couldn’t get enough.

That is one heck of a generalization.
I guess all the ratings in the dumper are gross generalizations too.

Imagine them doing this on September 11th 2001

Sports are supposed to be entertainment and escape from reality
Current trends are ruining sports

So now you’ve at least admitted that you’re being obtuse.
And let’s compare this current situation to fricking 9/11. Clearly they are comparable. Good job.

I went from watching ESPN all the time to not watching it at all after they went full SJW retard.
Posted on 4/12/21 at 6:46 pm to wildtigercat93
Fair enough, but there is a difference between reporting on something and focusing on it all day.
I dont know what ESPN did in this instance, but there are plenty of other more relevant topics to cover than just this today.

I avoid ESPN as much as possible. It’s got to be a really good game for me to watch. I don’t watch any of their other programming ever.

I was eating lunch at a restaurant today, and the waiter was carrying a big tray of plates, and he slipped on a banana peel, and one of the plates flew across the room, hit the remote, knocked it on the ground, and the channel changed to ESPN. I can’t believe I watched this garbage for the rest of my lunch
Every restaurant with more than a couple TVs has ESPN on so I rate this joke as a Hard Fail
