Would it have made a difference to Hamlin’s health if they called the game the moment the ambulance left the field? Would the Bills players begin smiling and laughing and had a good night’s rest if the game was canceled right away?

Im absolutely not. All you see is the refs talking to McDermott and Taylor. There is absolutely no audio whatsoever about what is being said between the refs and the coaches or the nfl
You can't claim a reality of what happened and what was said then also claim you're not wrong when you admit later you have no clue what was said.

Can you confirm the refs never said take 5 minutes then start the game but instead told the coaches to take some time and let us know? If you're absolutely not wrong, you need to confirm this

Joe Burrow warming up insinuates the game starting back up was imminent I'd guess.

The only time I claimed “im absolutely not wrong” is in reference to the comment “we heard the refs tell them to take 5 minutes to warm up before playing”. That isn’t up in the air at all, we didn’t hear that

What exactly was said between the nfl and the refs and coaches is unknown to the general public. You either listen to Joe Buck or Troy Vincent on what was actually said there

You said 45 minutes was too long.

So tell us, when was the correct time to cancel the game?

Are you in favor of not playing the game at all? What is your solution?

For ESPN that had to be hard on all commentators
You can tell they were all at a loss for words but you still had to fill air time despite the horrible scenario unfolding

They did the best they can, there is no blueprint for that and since it took the NFL over an hour to make a decision they couldn't just abandon post

Only thing they could've done is turn it into a weekend highlight show until they got some kind of definitive word from the NFL

Go look at what WWE stars said about performing after Owen Hart fell to his death.

The biggest thing about it that's annoying to me is that we can't even have a conversation about how we move forward. Anyone who says anything about it right now is met with "none of this matters, all that matters is his life"

Like, I get it. It's really tragic. I hope this young man is saved and comes out healthy on the other side, no doubt.

But regardless, the show will eventually go on. Why can't we have a conversation about how that is going to happen?

I feel like the same people who are saying this stuff, are the same people who are going to bitch when the NFL doesn't "find a solution" that is fair to the Bills and Bengals. The only solution that doesn't nuke everything is to play the game today, and no one wants to hear that

ESPN glorifies UFC. How can they be outraged about this? A person could literally every time they step into the ring.

There were also dangerous hits in the Tulane and Michigan towards the end of game that weren’t even penalized.

This

It’s like everyone by law has to lead every sentence off with “I know none of this matters” or “football takes a backseat “

It’s ok to discuss scenarios of what to going forward, it’s not going to affect the outcome of what’s already happened.

I never said I was absolutely correct in regards to my statement there

I am speculating based on what we know now. This isn’t difficult shel. The only absolute statement I made in “being absolutely correct” was to Chad, when he said “we heard the refs tell them to warmup and play in 5 minutes”. We didn’t hear that

Exactly. If someone says the NFL is a huge business that doesn't mean that someone doesn't want young Hamlin to survive and lead a healthy life.

Do you normally call it reality and speak it as fact when you're speculating something?

I'm aware. You made a statement as a matter of fact then later claimed you had no clue if that was correct. I do agree, that wasn't difficult.

He should have said "when in reality" first so we could gave known he was just speculating.

Needing to preface your opinions with understood information is one of the dumbest phenomenons of this century.

It's really the fault of people who apologize. Public figures are allowing the neckbeards to back them into a corner and it's too far gone at this point.

The NFL should consider putting “End Injuries” in their end zones

The NFL has been around a LONG time and player get injured every week and every week the game goes on. I think them not realizing that this situation was different right away doesn't mean the league is evil. They eventually saw the situation for what it was and came to the correct conclusion to postpone the game.

I meanni Don’t blame the refs because I just don’t think they knew what to do, but they were out there On the field while this guy was almost dying. They should get a little heat for thinking they could play with a 5 minute Warm up.
