Although most don't see this side of the story... thoughts and payers to those that have been "destroyed" without the ability to defend their integrity. This is not to say that everyone did everything perfectly and by the books.. we all know that rarely happens as we are all human! But VCHS faculty and administration have integrity and are being accused, tried and crucified by the press and public without defense. It is not right, those involved know the truth, LHSAA knows the truth. The truth would most likely clean up a lot of this mess.
To be honest with you unless the truth is the kid did something criminal, I’m not really interested in it. There’s absolutely no reason to take away his senior year.

I don't disagree! He is not a criminal and the ruling is WAY too harsh!
But don't dog VCHS for what LHSAA handed down...
And the kid and family sure has done a good job of that, when the adults in the situation didn't follow the rules and were not honest! Heavy sanctions on the ADULTS are appropriate! Not so much on the student!
They should have played fair, ask for a hardship for MANY reasons! I believe things would have been MUCH different!
LHSAA is enforcing their rules. If the rules and sanctions need to be changed, so be it! But that is a VERY slippery slope and we all know it!

It's pretty. Clear any foul play w transfer, move or recruiting 1 year of eligibility
The dad knew this going in. He is responsible not the lhsaa

Wasn't the first and won't be the last - when this has been discussed for changing it gets shot down hard

So, from here on out, I am guessing we are to expect the LHSAA to follow their rules to the "t" with all schools, including New Orleans area Catholics. Who have had some shady transfers recently themselves.
Otherwise, Hahnville will reserve the right to raise unholy hell.

Did anyone else listen to the Coach Salt podcast at halftime of the Nola game of the week last week? Very interesting points were made.
It doesn't make sense to me how Robison is ineligible, but at Mandeville, where LHSAA President Bruce Bundy is principal, they have a QB who went to Northlake Christian last year and he currently lives in Fontainebleau's district. And he is eligible and starting.
Or does it actually make sense, because the LHSAA picks and chooses when to enforce rules.

That video certainly does not help the Robison cause.

Its true. Someone just has to turn them in. But no one wants to go against Bundy

quote:Well if nobody turns them in - they can't even sniff it.....unless they change the rules.... you and I both know principals are very reluctant to turn in other principals. There has been a lot of talk about who can actually turn in a school and initiate an investigation especially after some incidents at jeff parish middle school games a couple years back.

but I do know your school told a D1 lineman NO THANKS.. last year because they did not make a bona fide move into the zone.

Case in point...
VCHS is being crucified by the public for being honest!
That is also the job of the coaches and administration... to be honest and play by the rules!
But, look what happens when you do play by the rules!
Or... do we just let the gifted athlete and his/her family do whatever the heck the want to do!
If Robison had issues with the coach & school before, he should have reported them! Instead, he puts out this GLOWING press conference!
Usually where there is smoke there is a fire! Simple logic!

DAH looks like a lot of people throwing VC and LHSAA under bus are gonna have to eat some crow soon.... unless they really don't care about the rules(note rules plural)

Noone on this board is "crucifying" VCHS for being "honest".
People are "crucifying" them because their football HC appears to be a grade A prick. Notice that neither he nor the school have contested anything that the QB said the coach told him.
Further, a number of people on this board, and in public, take significant issue with the actual rule itself, as well as if the "punishment fits the crime".
As more and more info comes out, it appears the letter of the rule was indeed broken.
Also...
1) What's your connection to VCHS?
2) Is Chicken paying you for every exclamation point you use?

1) Do you think the rule should remain the way it is?
2) Do you think the punishments (coach, and player) are appropriate.
Don't tell me they are just following the rules... I want to know if you think the rules are the way they should be, or if they should be changed. Same with the punishment... if the rulebook was silent on punishment, what do you think it should have been?

1) Do you think the rule should remain the way it is? The penalty needs to be severe so that people are much less inclined to do it. I am aware of several parents that wanted to transfer their sons before their senior years for a variety of reasons but they chose to remain - quite simply because their was no legal way for them to move with out buying a new house.
2) Do you think the punishments (coach, and player) are appropriate. Yes.
D?
maybe add some lee way and leniency to the hardship process... but the penalty has to be steep when you try to trick the system.
