Cooks was a liability for the Bills last night.

Can you run out of bounds without "firm grasp" and it be ruled a catch?
NFL rules are so f'd up and toyed with all the time.
Seems the definition of a catch is changed every year...

using college football catch rules from 2011 in a debate about NFL catch rules from 2026 is a waste of time

you're retarded. His knee was down.
They claimed no firm grasp. So they claim he essentially bobbled the ball all the way to the ground until it was stripped by the defensive player.
I was pulling for the Broncos or the Bills to get to the SB. I like them both, my two favorite teams in the playoffs, so Im not really bias here.
That play really could've went either way and that's a problem with the NFL rules.

Can anyone opine how this is surviving the ground ?
Ball completely moves and adjusts as he hits the ground out of bounds

Last one for yall to debate over
The chiefs player has clear control here and survives the ground with possession? Give me a break
The truth is the NFL has no idea what a catch actually is and since the wrote the rule so horrifically it’s completely judged with the ultimate inconsistency

The defender 'finished" the catch.

Plain
And
Simple
Next time Cooks complete the catch.

Chiefs get literally every single call go their way.
The simple fact of the matter is Buffalo was robbed. Can’t have the Swifties upset that Josh Allen proves once again he’s the best QB in the league.

I think we can all agree that the NFL rules are not consistently applied and are most often applied in an arbitrary and subjective way.

Regulation just to then call borderline PI back to back for the broncos
I thought the second one was PI when they showed it from the side.
The first one I thought was a bad call.

he was on his back, ball was out
You have better eyes than NFL cameras. No defender =catch or incomplete. His knee hit the ground before he rolled over. Defender took it while laying on his back.
The 2 PI calls at the end were complete BS. Bills should have won the game but it wasn't in the plans. They miss obvious PI on Cooks in the endzone and call the first PI when the bills didn't even touch the WR. It's showbiz.

It was a catch and then down by the Buffalo receiver. The Bills got robbed big-time.
