Short shelf life.

I think TD is overrated too.

Shaun Alexander also made Mike DuBose somewhat competent in 1999

That 1999 SEC title is still more recent than Tennessee’s last conference title.

How about LSU’s own Domanick Davis?? 1000 yard rusher for the Texans?

Let’s not forget Dominic Rhodes, rushing for a grand in the place of the Edge, as an undrafted rookie.

felt Priest Holmes was good for fantasy football owners the year he scored over 30 TD’s. I wouldn’t say he was underrated or overrated, kinda somewhere in the middle.

He was on my fantasy team.

Won the regular season, then lost in the playoffs thanks to the injury bug.

Clinton Portis

How can TD be overrated when he is the reason the Broncos won 2 Super Bowls? Elway had a serious elbow injury his last 2 years and could barely even throw.

What other running back has carried his team to two Super Bowl titles? And don't say Emmitt because he was one piece in a dominant machine. Those Cowboy teams were a dynasty, which Denver was far from.

If Gale Sayers belongs in the HOF, then so does TD.

I still remember him. My daughter was assigned number 37 on her soccer team. I instantly thought of Alexander.

Is Curtis Martin included in here? Where is he typically placed in the hierarchy?

Hall of Fame?

And Jamal Lewis was stupid good. This is one of the best highlight reels you'll ever see. You can count on one hand the RBs with his size, skill and speed

Jamal Lewis 295 yard game

Partly for playing in Seattle, and the left side of his offensive line (jones and hutchinson) was possibly the GOAT. He was damn good though.

Denver perfected the zone blocking running attack. TD was the best Denver had in that attack, but I do remember them plugging in no name running backs who were running for over 1,000 yards in that system.

I don’t think TD belonged in the HOF because he didn’t have sustained success for a long time. A lot of guys have a few great seasons that aren’t in the HOF and will never be in the HOF. Frank Gore should make it because he was a great RB for a long time, at least that would be my criteria for a HOF running backs.

Running backs are simple, but I think the HOF is going to have to reevaluate their selection process for QBs in the future. Is Eli or Rivers a HOF QB? If so, we are saying anybody who has a 15 to 20 year career is going to the HOF, because they will have the numbers. Prior to this generation those numbers were good enough, but because of rule changes it looks like we will have a lot of QBs who have longer more successful careers. So how do you differentiate good QBs from great QBs?
