I mean you were “right” about the pitchers hitting

Shane, you’re killing your father here. Lol.
Sarcasm, my guy. Sarcasm.

For like a hundred years it was consistent though

Nobody posting IIT was watching baseball before 1973.

That’s what makes them the olden days

But OP was yearning for what he missed watching

I always loved watching the strategy when it's a tie game and have a pitcher pitching great in the 6th with the bases loaded and 1 out and he's up at the plate.

Mike Hampton and Bartolo Colon enter the room
These two are polar opposites. You only remember Bartolo Colon because he had that viral home run when everyone went nuts. They went nuts because he was a terrible hitter. Hampton, however, could rake.

Managers being able to make pitching decisions based on pitching.
Lineups having 9 players who are major league hitters instead of 8 major league hitters and 1 guy whose hitting is akin to a bench player in high school.
Oh, and seeing Shohei play 162 games. No DH, no 2-way Shohei.
Yeah, I'll take the DH.
Can you imagine hitting pitchers in college baseball during the NCAA Tournament? Holy hell what a nightmare that would be.

I am not complaining about how it is now, but I actually liked the dichotomy between the AL and NL. It added a different style to each league

Why not just field your 9 best on defense then have your nine best hitters on offense? Like football.
Posted on 4/9/26 at 9:08 am to Indiangensing
It was a much more interesting game

Pitchers hitting was just rally killers

As a NL fan the DH and extra inning ghost runner completely ruined my interest in baseball.
I like strategy and the possibility a game could go till 2AM.
Now there’s none of that.

Pitchers get paid to play baseball. Just like a second baseman or the right fielder. If your name is in the lineup you should hit.
have you watched baseball in the last 40 years?

Why do you like a form of baseball that only occurs in one part of one league worldwide?

They’re not trying to hit MLB stuff though
