If the picks had went in this order, then no one could have said it was rigged. When the team with worst odds out of the top 4 teams wins it, then you can say it is rigged.
It's people like you that keep lotteries going.

People will see what they want to see...
For a league trying to sell a team, wouldnt it make more sense to wait till that team has the #1 pick in its grasp BEFORE agreeing to a sale? I'd say that #1 ups the value just a tad.

I agree with that. Not sure why they don't do it live any more.
Then again, when it was live, people claimed that it was rigged with the "frozen envelope"...

Honestly, this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read on here. It's not like Charlotte was sitting at 60% odds. They had 25% I believe and the hornets were around 13 basically tied with Cleveland.

I wasn't saying they do rig it, just that there have been some pretty suspicious results over the years.
I would personally prefer if they did it like an actual lottery. Load all the ping pong balls into the machine and have all of the reps there and designate someone to press the button and have the ball pop up.
They could then conduct interviews with the winners and losers while they run through the rest of the selections.
Not sure what would be the best/quickest way to conduct it for 2-14 since you would need to remove the chances for each of the ones drawn but everyone is tuning in to watch who gets #1 so make that a live spectacle.
The miserable long drawn out envelope opening is too much and the fact that it isn't conducted live will only feed the tin-foil-hat army.

I think this would suggest even more that the NBA lottery is rigged.
The NBA had to figure out how to sell the Hornets. They could either a)promise Benson the #1 pick for buying the team or b)give the hornets the #1 pick and let it be a free-for-all for the team.
I think option a makes them look less sketchy.
Now I'm not sure if I believe what I just posted but I do think it would be in the NBAs best interest to do this thing live to avoid any retarded and unneccesary speculation like this.

BTW
since 1985 12 teams, that's TWELVE teams, have won the draft lottery with WORSE odds than the Hornets had last night
that places the Hornets in the median range, not really an anomaly

I dont know why Hornets fans get so offended at the suggestion of a rigged lottery. You got the good side eitger way, might as well own up to it whether you think it was rigged or not

You didn't dig your hole of ignorance deep enough with your first post?

I don't think it's rigged. That said, the lottery is a dumb system. No reason the picks just shouldn't go to the teams in order by worst record, without changing it at all.

Not worried about blatant tanking or just think its a teams right?

I've stated this several times, but I think the team in 17th place should automatically get the 1st pick in the draft.
Then the 13 other teams not making the playoffs enter the lottery for picks 2-7. and picks 8-14 go to the remaining non-playoff teams in order of worse remaining record to best

Here are the odds of each team winning the lottery. It only determines the top 3 picks, and then the rest are in the order of record as they are below.
1. Charlotte Bobcats - 250 combinations, 25.0% chance of receiving the #1 pick
2. Washington Wizards - 199 combinations, 19.9% chance
3. Cleveland Cavaliers - 138 combinations, 13.8% chance
4. New Orleans Hornets - 137 combinations, 13.7% chance
5. Sacramento Kings - 76 combinations, 7.6% chance
6. Portland Trail Blazers (via NJ) - 75 combinations, 7.5% chance
7. Golden State Warriors - 36 combinations, 3.6% chance
8. Toronto Raptors - 35 combinations, 3.5% chance
9. Detroit Pistons - 17 combinations, 1.7% chance
10. New Orleans Hornets (via Min) - 11 combinations, 1.1% chance
11. Portland Trail Blazers - 8 combinations, 0.8% chance
12. Milwaukee Bucks - 7 combinations, 0.7% chance
13. Phoenix Suns - 6 combinations, 0.6% chance
14. Houston Rockets - 5 combinations, 0.5% chance
The actual lottery went in this exact order except for one team, and that's the Hornets who took the 1st pick. This is the same team that was controlled by the NBA until it sold it a month ago.
Coincidence? Maybe, but I don't think so.
1. Charlotte Bobcats - 250 combinations, 25.0% chance of receiving the #1 pick
2. Washington Wizards - 199 combinations, 19.9% chance

7. Golden State Warriors - 36 combinations, 3.6% chance

Apparently you don't understand how statistics/odds work. Higher odds don't guarantee an outcome, it's just a higher chance it'll happen.
You've never gone to a roulette table and had it come up green? the odds are highly against it yet it still happens.
Now if you run this lottery hundreds/ thousands of times you'll get an average result which reflects the odds well, but in one random outcome anything can happen.

There was a 75% chance the bobcats would not get the first pick.
Just sayin'
