The narrative in the MSM and moderates on here is going to quickly pivot from "it's not happening" to "we can't let the premier city in the world fail. It's up to all of us to bail out NYC".

I think they said it best in the 70s… “drop dead.”
NYC created this mess, they can fix it themselves.

BLM is going to set up a fund to assist his medical bills and recovery since he was a victim of a senseless crime.

not wandering around at 2 AM there isn't
A bunch of yokels from LA who have been there on vacation will loudly differ I am sure.

In the daylight absolutely, this is a ridiculous statement at 2am. I’m not saying it’s incredibly dangerous but there’s enough crazy people in NYC I wouldn’t suggest a young woman walk around at those hours alone in most of Manhattan.
These shootings are rarely random muggings, it’s almost always someone they knew and a shite talking scuffle starts and someone pulls a gun.

I’ve walked around with my friends at all hours of the night pretty much all over Manhattan and we’ve never experienced issues. We also aren’t trying to buy drugs on the street or start fights with random people.

From what I read, he went to the restaurant with some teammates to eat. They didn't like the vibe of the people in there so they decided to leave. Another group followed them out, tried to snatch some jewelry and then shot him. So, a pretty random mugging.

What will change? People think there is a difference between an open communist and a democrat?

You believe that? Sounds like a lot is missing from that story.

I’ve walked around Manhattan at all hours of the night and never felt unsafe.
I was walking down 8th street on the same path at the same time. could have been me!
there was also a stabbing at the raising canes in time square during the day.
There are alot of shady characters hanging around whats considered to be the safe area.

A story yesterday said he'd undergone several operations to remove the bullet from his lungs and was now off a ventilator. (So he wasn't shot in his guts? ) Also he was able to talk for the first time since the shooting.

Will be something to behold (from afar) when he gets rid of misdemeanors.

And Mamdani has even tried to challenge the definition of a violent offense.
“What violent crime is – is defined by the state,” he said at a 2021 protest outside the Manhattan DA’s office to nix cash bail and shut down Rikers – a promise he’s still making. ” Violence is an artificial construction,” he said at the time.
The misdemeanors the DSA wants to erase aren’t minor slip-ups. In the Empire State, they include theft or shoplifting up to $1,000, drug possession, assault without a weapon and even driving while intoxicated.
Have fun NYC
ETA: Can you imagine the field day the media would have if a Republican candidate for anything said 1/10 of the wacko shite he's said and advocated for?

Does it matter whether I believe it or not? Of course there's shite missing from the story, it's a crime still under investigation.
