If tweet fails to load, click here. This 3-1 pitch called a strike cost the Jays at least 2 runs. They likely would have won this game in 9 (vs losing in 18).

How do you say that cost the jays 2 runs? Having a runner on 2nd with 0 outs only yields a run about 50% of the time
The Jays had runners on 2nd with 0 outs multiple times later in that same game without scoring

That was in the second inning.

That’s a stretch.
Now, if Nathan Lukes just takes one of the three full count pitches from Kershaw in the 12th inning of that game, then yes the series is over in 5.

If anything was responsible for the loss it was probably Schneider's substitutions in extra innings.

The call was terrible but your overall conclusion here is quite the stretch

Nice job framing by catcher. Brought that ball right into top of k zone, even tho a little high
Only the best get away with it

It’s actually 81%
Even a runner on first with no outs scores 66% of the time.

Looks like dumb baserunning more than anything.

No way this is accurate

This 3-1 pitch called a strike

Not many umps would have called that a strike.

Even though the Dodgers won that long game, they may have lost having to play 18 innings. Blue Jays have dominated the Dodgers pitching since, especially the bullpen.

Definitely a baserunning error. Even if it's a bad call on the pitch you still have to cover your arse on the bases, it's not a good idea to assume anything

Its Baseball dude.
You act like this was Ohio State 1st and goal at the 1-inch line against Akron.
Baseball is not a " we can assume sport"....give it a real watch sometime instead of highlight clips,on X or YouTube.
A single pitch could've flipped things the other way, 5 runs for the Didgers, see anybody can play hypothetical in a,sport that DOESN'T allow it.

If there weren't three rounds of playoffs, the Series would indeed be over.
ETA. Jackie Robinson's first World Series game was September 30, 1947.

- pitching to Ohtani in the 7th after taking the lead was worse.
- taking out 4 of your better hitters for pinch runners and then having to play 7 innings with a bunch of guys batting under .186 for the rest of the game is worse.

The run expectancy in the MLB with runners on first and second with no outs is 1.55
