Just wondering, whats the history of a 32 beating a 1?

Is it like how the CBB tournament or has this happened a few times?

A win is unlikely but ive learned this year (shoulda already known) not to count those guys out. They are fighters just like we were last year and i love it

once in 2002, 32 west st. mary defeated 1 e.d. white 20-19 in the first round

last year 32 covington only lost to 1 dutchtown by a TD

Could Byrd have gotten a tougher No. 30 opponent? West Jeff is a damn good team. Spent the first 5 weeks of the season ranked in the top 5.

I didn't realize they were top 5, but I was worried after looking at their losses.
29-28 Jesuit (2 seed)
42-34 Rummel (6)
34-22 Brother Martin (15)

It looks like they are going to be a tough out.

Can anyone tell me how they would stack up against Byrd. Byrd has a QB who is excellent at running the option and can throw when needed. They are definitely a run-first team and have 3 backs who can be effective. I can't think of anything outstanding about Byrd's D, but they are fast and effective - usually shutting teams down in the second half.

Wildtigercat93 that is exactly why I think Central gives St.paul a hard time. They were left for dead after the first few weeks of the season. They are now on a roll and one of the hottest teams in the state. Playoffs are all about getting on a hot streak ask westgate. St.Paul is also always overated .

Central is familiar with St Paul having played them the last 2 seasons. Central is a different team then earlier in the season. I'm trying not to be a homer but I honestly see central competing and possibly winning a close one.

It's a LOOOOOOOOONG way from NOLA to Shreveport and it will have a big effect on the game. Byrd gives West Jeff their worst loss of the year.

Unfortunately that is what probably kills my Fontainebleau's chances of beating Parkway because it is over 5hrs away

Do I think St. Pauls loses to Central? No not really but I think you can be competitive

If you want to beat St. Pauls then you have to stop RB/FB D. Long and you cannot turn the ball over

If a team does that than most of these teams in 5a would probably beat SPS

The longest road trip so far for West Jeff??? Hammond...Just saying, that's a world of difference between an hour and all the way to Shreveport.

Central can stop him. What's their passing game like? One 99yd touchdown pass is what beat central last year. The final was 19-15 I believe.

How is St pauls passing game? If they are a running team then we deffinitly have a chance

If it goes to OT i know we got it sewed up

Also im going to the game but its gonna suck to be on that field again after that BS we went through last time i was there

It pains me how close we were to beating them last year.

Record might not show it, but this years central team is better then last years. central should be 8-2 or 9-1

Passing is average at best

Then again I'm only basing this on the game I saw against FHS. STP had only 50 passing yards against us and they also threw a pick six that went 70 yards the other way

Meh, i may be a little bias but take away a 99 yard TD from St paul, a missed chip shot Field goal to send it to OT (we would have won in OT they were gassed), a bogus nonexsistant aiding the runner call vs denham, and two fumbles of the first two kickoffs to go down 14-0 in the playoff game and youre lookig at an undefeated regular season for us last year

Should might not be the best word. Could seems better.

Central was an overtime penalty by a freshman fullback for denham away from losing that one

I personal think last years central team was better, but it's probably close. That defense was sick. This offense is better though, and triplett is a stud.

I'll be pulling fir central though for sure to beat St Pauls
