I am pulling for General Trass and Mentorship Academy to go all the way like you would not believe.

What are the chances if U High wins out they will play a home game the day after Thanksgiving?

If Parkview were to beat St. Louis in the "2nd round" of the playoffs, U High would be the home team.

I'd say it has more to do with evening the playing field. Why should public school x have to play private school y in the playoffs when private school y has a crazy advantage of being able to recruit players. The main problem I see is that it's not split for other sports and it should.

just wondering who do you root for? i can deal with select and nonselect bc select schools do have advantages, but there needs to be a cap on the number of playoff teams per division... 80% sounds like a good one

it'd give us 8 team playoffs for I and II (have the Super Bowl bye the week before the Dome), and the full 16 team brackets for III and IV. For nonselect, 5A, 4A, and 3A would still have their full 32 team brackets, and 1A and 2A could play 24 team brackets that would eliminate the 0-10 teams at least. In a 24 team 1A bracket, Homer and Gueydan would get in at 2-8, but one time I saw Jeanerette get in at 2-8, so that's kind of okay with me

U-High will be home regardless of who they play in Semis. Rule changed this year, higher seed is home for Semi's.

There have been proposals in the past to have only three select division and four non-select divisions.

This would eliminate teams with such bad records from qualifying for the playoffs.

Let's be honest. This is about 2 schools. Curtis and Evangel caused the split, no one else.

Very true, but other schools are not far behind (Calvary, U-high, ...)

LHSAA has some work to do.

Newman, Episcopal meet first round, should be interesting.

Riverside runs away with that division.

Notre Dame is gonna win that division. Their defense is super legit. Like 42 points given up the whole year legit. And they have given up more than 7 points 1 time against Teurlings who they beat. They have outscored their opponents 405-42 for f*cks sake. That's not a misprint. Riverside will be lucky to keep it close.

Nah man he's the Central Lafourche coach and is about to take his Trojans to Acadiana to whoop them wrecking rams Friday.

Just kidding, Acadiana is about the worst possible matchup we could have gotten. We're built to stop the spread which is why we beat Patterson and gave Destrehan a little trouble. We're not build to stop a power run game like Acadiana which is why teams like Hahnville & Thibodaux shredded us on the ground.

Damn.. St. Paul's likely will lose its fifth straight playoff opener. They really got a tough draw.

Well, to be fair to St. Paul's, there really isn't an easy game in that division. Aug is 2-8, but capable of beating anyone.

That being said, Curtis then Rummel does suck.

Riverside has more talent, and the differences in the two schedules the two schools played make for a stark contrast. Bill Stubbs has built that team into a small school power already. Their goal is to be another Curtis.

I absolutely hate this split. It's ok for the private schools to play in the districts with the public schools (and help gate profits) but nooo we can't have them in the playoffs?

This was all about Curtis and Evangel. Well now, Evangel is in the NW LA 5A district and Curtis is in the Catholic League. Keep both schools in 5A and get rid of the splits.

Or, have a 16 team playoff in 5A-1A and a 12 team playoff in the divisions.

Or, reduce the number of divisions and classes.

Or, just split the association and be done with it.

Anything is better than this.

I think St. Paul's will give Curtis a good game.
