Kind of off topic but since there’s a few HS football fans I’ll just go with it:
One of the random things I enjoy doing, is looking at the brackets and finding a small school or a school I’ve never heard about, then I go on google earth and find their campus and check out their stadiums… kind of nerdy but it’s a cool time killer while you’re on the shitter
What are some cool stadiums around the state and what are some of your favorite places to go to or play??

Sushi, it's all sad. Although, EJ was packed last Friday night.
i was at a pretty packed game friday too
yeah one ad told me live stream has hurt the spillover attendance.
but, the playoffs are the best time of the year no matter how you slice it split or not.

Benton is guaranteed a home game next round if they win?
yup

The Pit in St. Amant. A unique stadium. Doesn’t have a track, and there’s probably no more than 10 feet of space between the stands and the field. Feels like the fans are right on top of you. Its very tight all the way around. It’s packed every Friday night. Student section and band are on the visitors side, and the band takes up about 1/4 of the visitors side. Not a welcoming place for visitors.
The players go through a tin like tunnel, that they beat on on their way out to take the field. We have a cannon that we’ll shoot for touchdowns and field goals, and also when the team comes out of the tunnel to take the field. I love watching fans on the visitors side jump out of their seats everytime the cannon goes off. It seems like an intimidating place to play, but I’m not sure how intimidating it really is, since I’m a Gator, and probably biased.
I’ve always enjoyed going to bigger stadiums so my favorite non STA stadium is probably West Monroe’s. I love that feel of big time high school football.

Check out Logansport, then go west across the Sabine River to check out Joaquin, Texas.
Both are tiny towns in the middle of nowhere, separated only by a small river and a handful of miles, and with stadiums sitting right on the highway.
They are small, but all that shale gas money has built new facilities, fields, and buildings.

Was at Jewel Sumner last week. Stadium is down between two hills. Cool little setting. Sort of in the middle of nowhere.

Oak Grove is a cool little stadium. Airline has mounds built up onto the back of the stands. West Ouachita is in a bowl. West Monroe is just monstrous.

Actually played there my sophomore and junior years
Really cool small town atmosphere

Also, thanks to y’all for the suggestions.. I went and looked at all of them…
A few of my personal favorites from my own experiences:
Played in a game vs Landry my senior year in Algiers… the stadium and setting itself wasn’t too special but the place was packed on both sides and was five deep around the whole fence and it smelled like a snoop dogg concert.. was an intense game that we won
Played a playoff game in Iowa and it had the small town, everyone in the town was there type of atmosphere… really cool football spot in what seemed like the middle of nowhere
Jewel Sumner has a really cool setup like someone said earlier, it’s ducked off in the middle of the woods in the middle of some hills which was pretty cool.. I seem to remember Franklinton being sort of the same
Port Sulphur was always a cool, packed place to play and the fans there always brought the drama
I’ll throw in a baseball one too… we played in Kaplan for the playoffs and their baseball setup was really cool with students sitting everywhere from the third baseline to behind the whole outfield…..

Some of my favorite road trips are Bogalusa and Belle Chasse… St Thomas Aquinas and St Charles Catholic were fun too.
I loved West Monroe in 2010 but it impressed me slightly less in 2020. Also like games at Behrman

We have to go to JV and Varsity so we had about 6 games this year a half hour away or more. At first I was dreading the away games but I've gotten to where I enjoy them. Find somewhere good to eat - make it a quick trip to a place that sometimes I have not been before.
We went to St. Thomas Aquinas earlier this year. Their field reminds me of what Northeasts' (EBR) field looked like the last time I was there. Make a turn too early and you end up in a sketchy neighborhood.
I like Memorial and Olympia simply for the space. I can get away from people and watch the game without hearing everyone's proposed play calls, proposed substitutions and who should or should not be on the coaching staff next year.

Have you been since they redid the field?? What did you like about BC?

I liked that the home stands were smaller but packed, that there was no track, we were close to the field, they had barbecue smoke behind the home stands. It felt like a small town thing even though they’re a midsized 4A now

So is WM expected to win vs Chalmette? How far do yall think Chalmette can go in the playoffs?

They might have to beat WM, Zachary and Destrehan--just to play Acadiana in the Dome.
So..............
That's easily the sickest draw in 5A.

You got to beat the man, to be the man… WOOOO
Honestly we’re playing with house money… people didn’t think we’d get past Haughton. We got to win these games for people to think we’ll win them in the future. We’ve gotten over one hurdle and if we get past this one we’ll be one of the GOAT Chalmette teams

I was not terribly impressed by Haughton but it seemed like we had never seen a run spread offense before. Even when we were up 14-0 I didn't feel good about the game... seemed like Haughton was beating themselves more than we were beating them.
And they had a great play call on the 2 pt conversion... just didn't execute it well.
Chalmette is in unchartered territory now (well in recent times) and you never know how teams are going to respond. Northshore gave WM all they wanted and that was at WM. I do know we need to keep it lower scoring to have a chance.
