I’m listening on the 1130 app and Cavell is hammering the refs for flags. It seems like there’s been one on every play. Is it bad refs taking over or has it been that chippy?

I'm listening to Taglavore's goofy arse. My kids were miserable after school and soccer practice so we left at half. Wasn't too chippy in the 1st half anyways. Just a bunch of Shreve miscues lol. I did hear them mention it was unusual byrd had as many penalties as they did. I remember a chop block negated a huge gain for them, but nothing else really stood out. Shreve center snapped ball over QB head 4 times, not including ones QB managed to snag off target. Byrd muffed a punt, shreve picked it up and fumbled it right back. And Byrd hit a deep throw with like 30 seconds left to score TD before half. Miserable showing 1st half for Shreve and then dumb decision by coach at end to seal it.

Just saw on Twitter that St. Edmund - LaGrange was cancelled due to no officials arriving by game time. Somebody really dropped the ball on this one.

What happens every time this occurs, Home team changes original schedule date then moves or reschedules game. Some body from school forgets to log into officiating schedule system and change game.
White hats generally send an email to schools Copying HC, AD and Principal on Monday. Some schools don't ever respond. I have seen where home school realized the officials were not scheduled for a game around 3 then they frantically call the RCO to get a crew(on Thursday this can usually be "thrown" together. But when the home team realizes they don't have officials and hour before kickoff not a chance. Now on a Friday, you can forget it because every official that is available is already assigned.
Or the home school never scheduled the game in the officiating scheduling system, which on the officials side has a pretty stout system of checks and balances.
Twice I have gone to Thursday night games we have found out about less than 3 hours before kickoff, once on a Saturday. Three times we learned that our Thursday game was really going to be on Friday, 2 of those there were not enough available officials to handle the change.
hopefully they can play on sat.

Denham Springs 28 Franklinton 20. Final.
DSHS is 4-0 for the first time since 1995. Big test next week at STM.
This game was wild though. DSHS special teams was the hero in this one. Blocked the tying PAT and then housed a TD on the ensuing onside kick to seal it.

They have Catholic tonight. Any chance they can keep it close?

Considering they beat a Brother Martin team that hadn't lost a regular season game since 2019 last Friday 30-16, I'd say they have a chance to keep it close.

Franklinton has come a long way this year compared to the last few years and is clearly improving but I still expected more from DS. If they are going to take the next step they have to play much better. Franklinton was well outmatched yet had a few chances to pull this one out.

How’s the stadium at Patterson? Looks small from Google earth.

You going?
I’m cautiously optimistic… the game could go in a thousand different ways the way they can score… but we probably have better players than they’ve seen so far

The visitors' side is smallish, and it is right up against the cane field. I mean, right to the fence, you can hear the varmints in the cane running around, you're that close. Have to cross the field to the home side for concessions, and I think for the restroom, as well.
It has been about six or seven years, perhaps longer, now.

At the Union vs Bastrop game to watch Trey Holley break the state rushing yards record. Supposed to be some LSU coaches here tonight.

The Nola football superiority complex is alive and well.
This is laughable vibe and feel at gormley is weak, stands too far from players. give me lutcher/st james, ea/st amant, zachary/scotlandville, tuerlings/sTm, barbe/sulphur(sulphur one of the best venues period), ruston/wm, oak grove/oc, the claiborne parish superbowl, and many others.
Sorry but a good NOLA Catholic League game on Saturday night > anything else in the state
I am so confused…are you pro or anti Nola HS football?

If anyone has a stream for Many/Newman, it would be greatly appreciated.

A very hobbled BM team. The starting RB for BM sat, and the QB got hurt. STM was hanging before the QB went down, though. Once the QB went down, BM couldn't do anything. I think STM can hang with Catholic. Not knocking their performance against BM at all, but BM would beat them with Lonardo and Lambert. Catholic is a step behind years past. Still good but not great. We'll see how they progress.

It is already 16 - 0 St. Martin's over Abramson, 9:00 in the first. Berry with 2 TD
