Marcus Scott of West Jeff made some interesting comments in this morning's Picayune... basically insinuating that Catholic schools get all the calls against public schools

nothing new there... i've seen some examples of sketchy calls too

I watched the WJ-Raiders game the other night on TV, WJ did get some bad calls and several no calls. Is it blatant, I doubt it but I would bet many officials view WJ as undisciplined and the Catholic schools as very disciplined teams. Try going down the bayou sometimes, if it's close you're in trouble.

Loreauville(6-1) @ Catholic(NI)(6-1) should be a heck of a football game. I'll probably be attending Carencro @ Acadiana though.

STM wins because the playoffs haven't started yet

With u-high and Dunham, don't count much on the JV. Last year, Dunham won like 38-7 and we both know how the varsity game turned out.

Dunham's O played pretty badly against Capitol. The team was much improved from when the played northeast.

Can beat EA and St. Amant, but Dutchtown would be the upset of the year.

They will have to play very good games to beat EA and St. Amant. They barely beat Mckinley last week.

There is no way they stay close with Dutchtown though, even though I'd love to see that happen.

Thanks for the rankings, as usual.
I like how 35 and St. Augustine have quietly balanced the ledger and have matching 4-3 records.

Jesuit will give the Crusaders all we can handle this week.

Here are my projected Week 7 Power Ratings for 5A. Teams in red represent a decline from last week's ranking while teams in blue represent an improvement over the prior week ranking. This doesn't necessarily mean that their power rating went up or down...but rather their placement moved (i.e. Carencro dropping while their power ranking actually improved).

These are from my personal spreadsheet that I created. All of my rankings from last week matched up with the "Unofficial" LHSAA rankings last week. As long as my calculations are correct and data has been input properly, this should match or come close to the LHSAA. I'll revise if I need to.

Avoyelles @ Marksville in Week 10 should be awesome.

Marksville by 21. Glad for Avoyelles, but they have NO defense.

I haven't even seen them, but for whatever reason, Carencro scares the crap out of me. We played and beat them round 1 last year at the CroDome, and they were BIG.

Catholic High will win that game in a blowout. Discipline always wins in these type of games. See STM year in and out.

Do you get an automatic bid in the playoffs if you win your district?

Haaaaa brackets stay the same Acadiana easily makes it to the dome. Btw all of Acadianas power points are wrong because they are being divided by 10. They only play 9 games.
