We’ll see how the Mets handle “expected success”. I’m not saying the route they’ve taken won’t work but there’s a whole lot of pressure on a group that just choked away a Division. Between the media and the perception that they should win every game by 5 runs it’s gonna be interesting. Meanwhile, the Braves will just show up and play ball for 6 months like always with absolutely no pressure.

The D-backs are trading Daulton Varsho to the Blue Jays for Gabriel Moreno and Lourdes Gurriel Jr., per source. @JonHeyman, @BNightengale and @JeffPassan were on it.

Kimbrel sucks. It’ll be a waste of $10MM.

Phils don't need Braves peak era Kimbrel, just a competent piece to fill for the departed Robertson. Strahm and Kimbrel add flexibility and depth.

I agree. The Phil’s bullpen is the weakest link on their team. Bullpens in todays era are worth way more than teams put into them. The Braves won the WS not because of starters or hitters but because they locked down the Dodgers and Astros from the 7-9th innings. The East will be interesting to watch.

Sounds like the Mets might have issues with Correa's physical too...

Seems odd that the injury he suffered like 7 or 8 years ago would be an issue now. But supposedly he had a minor surgery recently on it.

Sure is a lot of buyer’s remorse involved with Correa
Almost like they have no idea he’s gonna average 120 game seasons if they’re lucky
But he does show up in the postseason, and that’s all that counts
I think his love of MMA and mysterious broken ribs from a massage probably has more to do with this than his ankle

Cohen talked about the signing publicly so I lean towards a deal still getting done because if the Mets back out he’d have a huge player grievance case. Probably tie a ton of the money in later years to health incentives

Bloom is going to swoop in and offer him 3/$60.
