have to say that the Braves refusing to part with any prospect capital at all this offseason is an odd, odd development.
I've been saying the same thing. Other clubs in the NL East are bolstering their lineups, meanwhile we're staying the exact same, and crossing our fingers that Donaldson will be as productive as he was 4 years ago. Honestly, haven't been happy or impressed with this off season. We quite literally can't hang on to all those pitchers.

Frustrating as a fan for sure but I get it. You will have even more money ($60-70M) next offseason and should have a better idea on all these guys. Right now Acuña and Freeman are superstars and you're still trying to figure out what's real and what's not with the rest of these guys like Albies and Swanson and all the pitching. Is this approach the best strategy for 2019? No. But I still think they're an 80 something win team and possible playoff team if the young guys don't fall off.
I would have liked to have seen a few of the pitchers that they're not super high on be consolidated though. Don't think having 12 legit prospects+big league starters is a great plan.

We can't keep all the pitchers. We have a dozen guys that could start this year. I really am shocked at the lack of movement by AA while the rest of the division gets noticeably better.

I get that, but we are over stocked at the minor league level in pitching. Maybe he should've brought more guys up and out them in the bullpen to test them out. But right now we're sitting on our hands, and it doesn't seem there is a plan at the moment.

Pretty good deal for the Phillies. This hardly looks as exorbitant as all the rumors of how much it would cost to get him IMO.

Marlins third piece went from Garcia or Moniak to Stewart. That's a win for Phils keeping all their offensive prospects.

If Jeter whiffs on this trade, he should legally change his name to Isiah Thomas.

Dude is definitely gonna feast in that ballpark with bats around him.

Realmuto turns 28 in March. He's under club control for two more seasons. He was not open to extension talks with Miami, but two sources said those talks are expected to happen with Phillies.

I like the Philly side of that deal

I like this deal for both sides. Phillies preserve prospect depth and Sanchez is a very nice headliner for Miami. Definitely doesn’t look as good as earlier when people were reporting Bohm or Garcia instead of Stewart

Well, I wouldn't have given up Whitley, so no remorse here.

With Mets also improving, NL east gonna have 4 competitive teams. Makes me wonder how many wins Miami gonna finish with
I'm not convinced the Braves will be all that competitive this year, unfortunately. We aren't going to dominate division games like we did last year. I'd take the under on the Vegas win total right now. I'd guess we'll win 75-80 games this year with the current roster.
This offseason has sucked.

Is Harper to Philly still a possibility ?
I might just stop watching for the next decade while they own the East.

they were thought to be the prohibitive favorite but now its looking like hes looking at the giants and may be open to a 2/3 year deal which may open other options up

I saw the Giants chatter. As a Braves fan, here's to hoping the Phillies don't have the cash for Harper/Realmulto.

They have the cash for Realmuto, Harper, and Machado..
But, they want Trout after 2020..
Thus will probably go just one or the other...or neither.
