The move to pull Grieke was bad.

Then in the 8th not pitching hitting for Robinson and Reddick was equally as bad.

All that doesn’t matter if the bats don’t suck with RISP all season

You're either all in on AJ or all out. I don't think there's a middle ground. 2017 team really bailed his sorry arse out. Beltran, Cora, McCann were the keys to success on that run. I'm not even upset, I could see it coming the whole way.

Isn't it ironic that he's best friends with Dave Roberts?

I don’t hate Hinch as much as the rest of the DAT, but he absolutely deserves criticism for the way he handled pitching last night

Same here. Should have either let Greinke finish or brought Cole in. Hell, anyone but Harris at that point. I knew he was going to get lit up after his last outings.

Can we hire Beltran as hitting coach? . I mean look at Yuli after the advice he gave him. He went on a tear.

I’m still not happy with him. I’m firmly in the group that doesn’t like his managing style. I’ll pose this question. Why did the Astros have a record of 0 and 60 something when trailing after 8 innings? How ironic of a stat is that for a team that won 107 regular season games?

Here’s my guess. Hinch preaches about the season being a marathon, where you can’t get too high or too low. He rests players and constantly talks about the long haul. If the team is behind late there’s no sense of urgency because there’s another game tomorrow. So when they get behind at home late in the game in the World Series the team has no idea how to respond because he never challenged them and never emphasized it during the regular season. You can’t just flip a switch and turn it on if you didn’t practice it.

Hinch is very much a “by-the-script” manager. His failure to put Cole in last night is evidence of that. He envisioned him closing the game out in the ninth and he was so guided by that vision that he failed to adjust and get him in the game at a point he could possibly help.

Now saying all that we have no idea if leaving greinke in or replacing him with Cole would have worked. But we do know that the decisions and pitching choices he went with absolutely didn’t work.

He'll ride Charlie Morton for 4 innings in a game 7 and not let a Cy Young season Cole try for 8 outs. That's all you need to know about the clown.

To go away with tipping pitches should the MLB just make mics and speakers for the catcher & the pitcher?

I'm not the biggest Hinch fan and he definitely deserves a ton of criticism for how he handled the last 2 games. Since Cora and Beltran left we haven't really had a sense of urgency or even attempted to hit according to the situation. Guys just go up there trying to pull the ball 450 ft no matter the situation. It finally bit us this series.

Someone fire up the off-season thread so I can start it off with a huge fight by suggesting we trade Correa for a major haul this offseason

I feel bad for Cole too. Think he should've been in the game. That left a sour taste in his mouth. I'd like us to re-sign him but I doubt he will and if this is the way it ends, it was a disappointing end to a great tenure with him.

God i wish we won last night. Gonna miss baseball the next few months.

This sucks pretty bad. Fun season but damnit it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Gutted for Harris, Greinke, and Cole. No sympathy for the sacks of shite on offense, outside of Yuli who hit the ball hard all postseason, who continually shite the bed. Just unreal the amount of chances that were squandered this series and all postseason due to the refusal to take what the pitcher is giving you and just hit a single.

I’m out on AJ I was mild on him for a while but he was absolutely dogshit last night. Like msu said if you are going to have a quick leash on ZG that late in the game why not start the 7th with Cole and tell him to get you 6 outs or at least get you clean through the top of their order? He still had his highest leverage relief pitchers in play against the shitty part of their lineup. And him allowing Soto to tack on that insurance run I almost had a stroke. Never in a million years do you let that dude beat you like that in a one run game. So fricking arrogant and stupid.

The offense had ONE base runner from the 7th inning on with a deficit. frick me that’s awful

Pitching to Soto was a Boone level boner like pitching to Altuve. You walk him.
