according to the Oregonian's John Canzano.

Bosh takes less than Wade? Is he stupid? He would definitely get more money on the open market than Wade.
ETA: I guessed 12mil for Wade, but was thinking closer to 15mil for Bosh.

It's obviously not about their market value.

quote:I'm highly skeptical on how authentic it is, but to play along, that would be $11+12+22mil, assuming Lebron takes the max. That's only $45mil, so yea, after a decision on Cole, and a couple of others, they may have a little wiggle room to work with.
Even if Bron signs for the max, the Heat will have some money to work with. Most people assumed Bosh/Wade would resign for about $15 mill per season.

Bosh doesn't particularly care about the money. He likes what he has in Miami.

Update 2:50 p.m.:
• ESPN reports that Luol Deng will not take a signficant paycut to join Miami. Deng is said to be one of the Heat's primary targets while they use their 'window' to upgrade the roster before the Big 3 re-sign.
The Phoenix Suns are trying to re-sign Channing Frye and facing competition from the Warriors and Cavs according to Yahoo Sports.
• The Bulls are going all-out on their meeting with Carmelo Anthony Tuesday, including huge billboards showing him in a Chicago uniform. But Chicago is said to be "pessimistic" about their chances with Anthony.
• The Pacers are 'pushing' to sign veteran guard C.J. Miles with the Mid-Level Exception. They need his shooting badly. Could also lead to both C.J. Watson and C.J. Miles on the same team which would get confusing.
• Veteran forward Thabo Sefolosha has interest from the Rockets, Clippers, and Mavericks. Those teams need a wing defender and Sefolosha fits the bill. He'd be a significant upgrade over anything Houston has on the perimeter.
• ESPN Dallas reports the Mavericks are interested in free agent forward Al-Faqouq Aminu. He would give them an upgrade in terms of defensive versatility on the wings. Aminu played last season for the Pelicans.

Obviously it isn't about the money, because he could get a lot more, but I thought worst case scenario for him would be to take a deal with the same salary as Wade.

Think of That extra money in Wades pocket as more about respect. He IS Miami. Regardless of the other two, he's a heat lifer and they basically nodded to it with that minor contract difference

I actually saw more on this rumor and it has Bosh with a 5 year deal starting at 11 and Wade with a 4 year deal at 12.
Posted on 7/1/14 at 2:19 pm to Epic Cajun
The max amount of years Wade can agree to is 4 years because of the 36 over rule.

Dear god no. I don't want that anywhere near my team

Bosh left a shitload of money on the table, and a 5 year deal at that. He must have really really wanted to stay in South Beach.
I have to imagine he negotiated ETOs after years 3 and 4, as well as no trade clauses.

If Wade and Bosh take those contracts do y'all think they would go after Gortat which seems like an attainable big man they need.

While the Heat will have some money available, I don't think they'll have enough to meet Gotat's salary demands.

Is Marion on the move?
Possibly. He would like to come back but I know the Heat are after him as well
