Lebron is smart. Cleveland has an aging roster with little to no cap flexibility. Go to L.A where they have young talent all over and tons of cap room. Winning a title for a 3rd organization would increase his legacy.

Also not a bad way to stick it to Dan Gilbert, force him to be deep in the luxury tax and then bail

Benefits would be salvaging relationship with Kyrie
I get why it would be worth a try, but I don't think there is any chance in hell he's playing for CLE 3 seasons from now.

Getting out of Thompson's contract and got a 1 yr bandaid with Lopez with potential free agency money to spend later on.
True, but still not worth it IMO.

The bigger blow is that he's running from a situation that he created. Golden State players are taking pay cuts to play together...Kyrie Irving is doing anything he can to get away from Lebron. That's going to be a big part of his legacy.

Kyrie's legacy will be enough for people to stop blaming Lebron for him wanting to get away from Lebron.

Kyrie is a twat.

did you miss the Gilbert letter? If he wants to go back there, Idk if he does or not, he will...and Riley will take him back.

BronBron is a front runner. He left to win 6 championships in Miami (even though Bron has never played on a super team), then as it was clear they were done, the prodigal son returned to Cleveland....mostly because it made the most basketball sense as they had the assets to give him another nice team up, and now that he can't beat GSW in part due to his own bad moves he'll leave again in hopes of another team up.

I don't blame him but durant catches so much shite when Lebron is much worse

You can laugh all you want. I don't dislike Lebron. I dislike Durant and what he's done much more.

But, in the day and age of players calling the shots and building their own team, it's meaningful when the best player in the game can't keep a team together.

What?

It's sports. Teams change

Quite frequently at that.
