You clearly haven’t watched 90s basketball.

It’s embarrassing to watch. I get embarrassed for y’all.

A sane human cannot watch that basketball, ponder what Lebron would do in one of those games, and come away thinking those guys would do ANYTHING to stop him from dominating the likes we’ve never seen.

Guys Lebron is a MUCH better passer than MJ. The heck do you think a guy Lebron’s size and speed and passing ability is doing to those nerds in the 90s?

Why not?

Lebron is by far the most equipped dude in all of the 2000s to handle physical play.

Dudes like Laimbeer are so small compared to Lebron. He'd just get and 1 after and 1, they'd have zero answer for the physicality of Lebron.

Oh, and prime Lebron defense in the playoffs was the best defender in the NBA... Now let him play defense while being 2x as physical without fouls. Good luck little dudes of the 90s.

You’re right. Looking at him PHYSICALLY, yes, he is built for that type of style.

But there’s a difference between being physically tough and MENTALLY tough. And LeBron is no where close to being mentally tough. You can argue till you’re blue in the face, but that’s a hill I will die on.

Coming back from down 3-1 to "the greatest team of all time" required some mental toughness

Don’t listen to players. They’re not even close to capable of ranking or properly discussing their peers or different eras

Yeah, random guys on the internet with that “trust me bro” vibe are the experts you should rely on.

I had a conversation with a buddy the other day.. We were glued to the TV during that time period of the NBA... There were always scuffles going on... But one thing was these guys played injured... Bird, Magic, Isiah..Etc were hardly ever out of the game if ever... Bird had the back problems.. These guys are bunch of "P" these days...

There are plenty videos of players back then explaining how watered down their league had become

And there is literally a video of Lebron himself saying that there are all star level guys in today’s NBA that don’t really understand the game of basketball. Players may be more talented, though that is probably a reach, but they are not well prepared to be more than athletes.

I have no doubt that Lebron would have been a great player in any era. Saying that the greats of the 90s wouldn’t excel today is just silly. The skinny nerd comment is laughable stupid. There were plenty of dudes who could’ve physically banged with LJ.

They would think he was fricking alien or robot if he played in the 80s/90s. They'd be more physical than is allowed now then would foul out by halftime trying to guard him.

Yeah, forcing defenders to always play him one on one, without partial zones, would really hurt Lebron

Here, let Bill Laimbeer explain it to you.

but fans that watched the 80s and 90s will tell you he doesn't know what he's talking about

Not what I was talking about but if you knew anything about that rivalry you’d know that Laimbeer is just taking a jab at MJ right there.

Wilt was more athletic than you think apparently.

Chamberlain stood 6 ft 11 in (2.11 m) when he entered Philadelphia's Overbrook High School.[5] As an avid track and field athlete, he high jumped 6 feet, 6 inches, ran the 440 yards in 49.0 seconds and the 880 yards in 1:58.3, put the shot 53 feet, 4 inches, and long jumped 22 feet.[6

He wasn’t just some tall dude clogging up the middle…

It’s a strange phenomenon where the nostalgia freaks, to protect their fantasy, have to claim that basketball is the only sport on the entire planet where the players have gotten worse over time.
